Rec’d. Though DeCoud took responsibility for the play, it’s pretty easy to see how that play is a good call against that defense.
it also explains it wasn't all Decoud's fault
It was a lapse by the Defense or even the DC with improper personnel and presnap depth.
Shockley was the big factor in that play.
More growing pains for our defense.

There were several calls by Payton
That ate the devensive call for lunch. Off the top of my head, this one – the 80 yd TD; also the screen to Pierre Thomas right behind the Zone Blitz that went for 23 yards on their first play of OT. I’m sure there were others (Payton’s pretty good at that) where we had almost no chance of a stop because of the perfect play call.
But for the most part, it was pretty good Defense (3rd game in a row!) – they “only” allowed 4 plays of 20 yards or more.
