SB Nation Atlanta Editor's Pick
Better Know the Jacksonville Jaguars: Ask Big Cat Country
Hey Falcon fans
I'm John, one of the editors over at SBN's Jaguar site, Big Cat Country. The Jags conclude the preseason vs Atlanta. For the casual fans, this is usually the most "bleh" game of the preseason since the starters either won't play or only play a series or two. But I always like to see how the guys fighting for roster spots respond with their jobs on the line.
Either way, here's to an injury free game

Yeah
we have a few WR’s we could trade away, for a price of course. Wouldn’t mind having someone like Thomas DeCoud.
Our Coach said himself
DeCoud was defensive MVP of out team last year, no way in hell we trade him.

Well I didn't know
he said that, so never mind. I just knew coming out of college he had a good shot at being pretty good, and he looked pretty good last year in general.
Ah wishful thinking
It’s cool, DeCoud was one of the few college players that we have, (other than Matt Ryan) that I saw play in college before the ’08 draft, so I know exactly how you feel.

Tell us about MJD
He’s sitting out pre-season as a precaution, and not because he’s got a lingering injury, right?

There was a report that was later proven false MJD had a clean up procedure done on his knee. He’s out mostly because of precautionary measures.

He was held out of practice
here and there last year, but he played every Sunday. I wouldn’t worry about your fantasy team.
How'd you know I was concerned about that?
I just love MJD in general, though. I don’t know if it’s the fact that he destroys everyone even though he’s so small, or the fact that he freely gives fantasy advice to fans, but he’s just a likable dude.

I'll be honust
Outside of Garrad and MJD I know little abou the Jags, and I like to think of myself as quite the NFL connoisseur. So tell us, who is one guy that most NFL fans have never heard of on the Jags roster? (That’s good by the way…)

There are a lot
I say LB Darly Smith and TE Marcedes Lewis are the best 2 you heard very little; and they both pretty good.
Lewis is maybe the best blocking TE in the league; Darly Smith is an elite LB; but nobody recognize him.

Ah yes I know of Lewis
Didn’t know he was as good as you say he is. And I haven’t heard of Darly Smith, but I’ll keep an eye out, thanks.

Talk about your wide receiver depth chart
Mike Sims-Walker seems to have the talent to be a #1 receiver in this league, but are you worried about his injury history? Tell us more about Mike Thomas.

Finally
after al the years we stuck with mediocore or worse WRS; it looks good. We have 3 very good wideouts in MSW; Thomas and Jarett Dillard.
MSW lately avoiding injuries; he had one in the 1st pre game; but he played in rthe next game. He is in his contract year; and i expected big things from him.
Thomas had the rookie receiving record last year; he is a multifunctional weapon. He can catch; run and return kicks and punts.

Why did you skip on keeping your franchise in Florida
now you’re going to L.A. because you didn’t draft Tebow

No sir
Did you know how empty these days for example the Bucs statdium is. They will have maybe 1 game which will not blacked out; and it will be because of the Steelers.
But I tell you a really interesting fact. After Tyson Alualu was drafted instead of Timmy; the Jaguars have record numbers of new season ticket sales. 5000 new ticketsales within 1 week.

it would be double that with Timmy
not to mention his jersey sails are the highest in sports history. I just don’t want to see a team in the south (other than the ain’ts) moved into the pacific coast
