Is gotta be Aundray Bruce
- overall draft choice and sucked way more than Anderson.
From Wikipedia:
Bruce was drafted with the first overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.2 Although he was the first overall pick, Bruce started only 42 games in his 11-year career. Bruce enjoyed his most prominent role on the Falcons 1991 playoff team when he saw spot duty on offense as a tight end as well as defense. He signed with the Los Angeles Raiders as a free agent in 1992 and finished his career with the organization. Bruce played in 151 games over his 11-season career, posting 32 sacks and 4 interceptions. He was quite serviceable in Oakland but never lived up to the high expectations.:

I would say either Aundray Bruce or Bruce Pickens

Not with guys like Bruce Pickens, Will Overstreet and Jimmy Williams in the mix.
Bruce was godly compared to these bums.
Throw in Joe Profit

Ya Bruce was the first to come to mind but...
went back & looked at his stats- not that shabby actually, especially compared to JA98. I certainly would’ve taken 12 sacks in JA’s first 2 yrs over what we got. Don’t get me wrong, Bruce was still a bust for a #1 pick. I like the Picken’s pick; I had high hopes for that one & he was god-awful. Lookin back at our past #1’s is depressing in general, up to ‘08, with the occasional score (I didn’t mean you Steve B.) The blind squirrel & the nut thing saying comes to mind.
No one else will do it?
O.K. I will be the first, Ron Mexico ’nuff said.

Oh please.

Bruce
Many of them over the last 40+ years. Those of us old to remember have tried to forget. No one came in with more over-blown hype, and did so little with it.
Which Bruce?

I'm surprised
Jimmy Williams’ name hasn’t been mentioned more than once. What a train wreck that guy was.
He was actually 2nd round, or he would!
How many more days, Lord, must I walk through the wilderness?
Are we not forgetting....
Tony Casillas? I think a #2 overall Nosetackle? I know he went on to play w/ the Cowboys in an mediumly serviceable manner, but for the Birds he was putrid.
Oh how I love memory lane.
Nathan Davis
Nathan Davis, a DT from Indiana taken by Dan Reeves in the 2nd round in 1997. I don’t think he ever bothered to show up for training camp.

One hit wonder
Have no remembrance of the guy’s name or any other details…
It was during the rein of Nobis. A rookie lasted until the first day of hits. Had one play – head on into Nobis. Walked off the field, never to be heard from again.
Gotta be Bruce Pickens
But does anybody have the back-story on Joey Jones? #9 Overall pick, with 7 total Receptions?
