Wow! Yesterday was just one of those days where its just awesome to be a sports fan. First, I went to the Braves opening day game, courtesy of my friend who's a Cubs fan, only to see Jason Heyward pull a Matty Ice and hit a homer in his first at-bat, then see Carlos Zambrano fail to make it out of the 2nd inning in a 16-5 blowout. Classic.
Then there was one of the most suspenseful basketball games I've ever seen that was inches away from ending in a team comprised of mostly unathletic white guys winning a national title. Come to think of it, a team of unathletic white guys DID win the title. And Dickie V told me to pick UTEP in bracketology! You cheated me Dick!!
Sorry, I tend to ramble. But at a point in the year where there isn't much news in the NFL you really start to appreciate how exciting the season can be sometimes. All those classic moments in NFL history. The past 3 Superbowls have been amazing (well, except that the Saints won). The Matty Ice legend grows by the day. And we've found out that we have the greatest, toughest, duffburger-iest Kicker/DE hybrid of all time (I feel like he deserves his own T-shirt, eh?).
So my question for you guys is: In all your years as stout Atlanta Falcoholics, what is/are your favorite moment(s) as a Falcons fan?? Or even just from football in general. You know, the kind that gave you goosebumps or scream like a little kid or maybe even made you cry a little (even though you'll never admit it).
So let's hear 'em!
