Falcons are NFL's first team to embrace Mixed Martial Arts training - FOX Sports
About 15 to 20 Falcons are taking advantage of a professional MMA training program run by Jay Glazer. Past MMA cross-trainers include slightly noteworthy names like Patrick Willis and Jared Allen.
This is great news, family. Just warning you now in case a loose-ball pileup somehow ends with Josh Freeman in a spine crank.

Ok so I'm thinking...
The spot at the top of the pecking order in the NFC south may be the most turbulent in the NFL. If we look over the last few years we see do much inconsistancy surounding one very steady pillar that is the Falcons Franchise. While a SB win is nothing to scoff at it doesn’t solidify your spot as big pimp in your division, history proves this. While I donor believe the Saints are formidable I do not think that they will be what they were last year. Once on safari I was watching a couple of lions laying beside a carcass they had just devoured. I got out of the vehicle not 30ft away. Another tourist began cursing at me and demanded that I get back in the vehicle my guide said “why those lions can’t even stand up they are so fat.” My overwhelming feeling about the saints orginization is that they have “achieved” they’re goal. I am also not worried about the Panthers especially condisering the current state of debacle they are in. No leaders, no draft picks etc… Nevertheless I have this nagging feeling about one of our devisional rivals yes the Flaming Pirates of the Gulf coast have given us reason to not overlook them. Truth is we may be facing one of the best defensive tackles to come out of the draft in 12 centuries and they have managed to develope Freeman into a worthy opponent. My prediction for the NFC south is:
Falcons 11-5
Bucs 9-7
Saints 8-8
Cats 6-10

the Bucs are the dark horse
I agree on that – no matter how pathetic they were at the beginning of the season, they were impressive later in the season, beating Green Bay and NO. and we barely escaped with that last second catch. one good draft and reversal of fortunes might take place.
I think the important thing is our record within the division. history shows how tough it is to go over 50% in our division. if we can go 4-2 within our division, it will mean we’re good enough to make playoffs. should we go 5-1 or even sweep our division – we then can say it was an outstanding season.

The trick is not letting anyone see it
Harvey Dahl has become exceptional at this tactic. God bless him.

Does it involve the facemask or helmet?
If not it should only be 10 yards

I was saying they should do this a few weeks back.
It will make them think faster and with much more focus. I hope the whole team catches on. Matty is a smart guy but he’s a powder puff and could use some toughening up.

Looks pretty tough at 1:50 (sorry the song in the video is so abysmal)
Yeah you gotta give it to him
That flip was ballsy. That video almost made me cry. Guess I’m the one that needs the training. I do love the black jerseys.

Well, I feel slightly more manly for not being the only one who got a little teary eyed.
The song really provided the teary eyes I think, but what was more impressive was the username of the person who made the video “EaglesFan”.
"Ryan, under center. Single receiver set, to either side. Ryan, gonna throw. First professional pass.....CAUGHT!! Jenkins! 30! 25! 20! 15! 10! 5! He lives in Atlanta!!!" -Wes Durham
I bet it was Ron Mexico
Hahahahahaha!!!!

That video provided some misty eyes
Not gonna lie, I remember the way the franchise was back then. He really is gonna be something.
Even if he just has an average career, I think we all can honestly say that Matty’s been nothing but a miracle for our Birds.
The vid also makes me wish it was FALL already. I wanna see some FOOTBALL!!

If you watch the vid of his face getting exploded in college
you’d know he’s no cream puff. here.

that was a hard hit
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is
Honestly, I think Ice a lot of Ryan’s reputation for being slightly less than a hardass on the field has more to do with his goofy demeanor than his play. I don’t really consider him less tough than the average NFL QB. Of course, I would love for him to get in on this MMA stuff and become the TOUGHEST QB. Is it a penalty if you avoid a sack by roundhouse kicking a DE in the chest?
Blasphemy!
How dare you speak negatively about our savior!
I agree with you though. He is a little soft but what qb isn’t? Lol

Oh don't get me wrong...
I would have no other. I would like to see him eat the head off a bat while stomping out of the tunnel. All I’m saying is some MMA training would provide a NEO type download that could keep Matt in the pocket long enough to find Roddy. He was a bit squirley last year.

Fear the Falcons!

I really hope
that Harvey Dahl does this training. He needs to win meanest player again. I’ll have my eyes locked in on him a bit more, maybe see him take down the other teams D-Line.
Anyone else looking forward to Coach Smith vs DeAngelo part II?
