Weatherspoon looks like a good pick
but I don’t know if he’ll be around at 19.
A sleeper LB could be Sean Lee out of Penn State. The only concern was he knee injury lasy year but he had a very good combine. He might be work looking at if The Spoon isn’t available.
I think he'll make it to #19
He seems honestly excited about the prospect of being a Falcon, too.

If all else fails.....
He can bitch and complain like eli manning and get traded lol. Hope it would work in our favor then.

WEATHERSPOOON
If he gets taken before #19 I will be heartbroken. However, I don’t think it’s very likely that he’ll be gone before we get to him. Draft experts have McClain and Kindle above him, and many have Graham and Hughes as rush OLBs above him as well. If he is still on the board we will take him, and he and Curtis Lofton will make our linebacking corps rock solid.
Favorite quote from the comments:
DOL, Welcome to the Spoon train, 1st class is booked since you dragged your feet with Pouncey. But there’s plenty of room in coach.
Giants will draft spoon
so i predict either Pouncey or Mike Iupati unless TD is so focused on linebacker that he has no backup plan. I truly doubt that though.

I tell you all that your hopes will crash harder
the more you fall in man love with Spoon when the Giants take him before we get a chance. If we get him fine. but the reality is he won’t likely be there so what is your plan then. Whine and punch and scream? We don’t need a 9th linebacker or however many good ones we do have. Spoon may upgrade what we have but we need to face that he may not be there and make plans on who we really need long term instead of being so focused on one that all others are crap in comparison. If you have that attitude and are disappointed you will blame the draft all year long on any failures we may have along the way.
I don’t want people pointing to draft day as the worst day of our season just because we WANTED it our way.
I like Spoon but I am a realist and know he wont be there and that even if we get him his impact wont change the overall picture of our defense enough to pin all my hopes on him.
Linebackers are a dime a dozen and getting all gushy over the 6th linebacker of the draft doesn’t seem to be rational to me.
{Rant off}
sorry,
but i wish people would at least sound like they have a secondary choice set up instead of pinning all hopes of the future one any one man.
You're assuming he won't be there.
And you know what they say about assuming.
If he’s not there at 19, then you know what? I’ll be sad, but we’re not 10 year old kids here. It’ll just be a sad moment in most of our lives and we’ll move on like we would any other sad moment.
The thing is, the ‘experts’ don’t have Spoon going ahead of us in most of what I’ve seen. Some have him falling to the Saints at 32 or the Cards at 31, so I wouldn’t go running out there and say he’ll be gone by the time our pick comes around.
To be honest, I’d be more sad if the Steelers drafted him at 18, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it. That’s just silly.

But is he the 6th 4/3 lb in the draft?
Big difference. He fits here all the way around unlike some of the other guys.
Rule #1: Double tap.
If he isnt at 19...
I will probably eat a gallon of Ben&Jerry’s, while crying in front of the TV. I’ll let my salty tears mix in with the sweet cookie dough, while watching the Texans decide on Kyle Wilson. Then as they approach the stand, I will look down and realize i am eating with a SPOOOON!!!! I will then give up that utensil and only use sporks for the rest of my life….

My 2nd choice, if we don't trade down,
is Mike Iupati, Blalock would be great depth, I like him..I really do, I’m just not crazy about him starting
Good points, Funballad...
We could be mega-pissed if he goes before us. Unfortunately, love just can’t be contained. It’s better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.
But you’re right.
But maybe you’re not.
If no Weatherspoon, I think another LB or OL may be in order. I like Graham a lot, I just think Bierman and Abe have DE covered this year, with Sid and JA98 as backups. I wouldn’t be disappointed if we took him, though.

With all due respect
I do believe the Giants are locked into taking Rolando McClain if he’s there, as they have a need for a MLB not an OLB especially weakside where Mr. Michael Boley is supposed to start.

I won't really mind
Truth is we have choices and if Spizzy ain’t there at 19 somebody just as pimptacular will be like iupati or grahem. I’m good with the 19th pick in this draft cause it’s deep. But I really like the Tick.
Rule #1: Double tap.
Can some please tell me why are we so high on this guy?
The highlights I saw of him didn’t impress me. And on YT, some were saying he only made a few good plays in one game.
Has good speed, has ability to cover, and above all
has leadership qualities and is vocal.
In his pro day he ran in the high 4.5s for his 40. He also did a pretty good number of reps on the bench, too. He looked fluid in his drills, and is a safe pick, someone we most definitely need since we have no R2 currently.
His attitude and voice on the field is what I like the most about him. He’s very energetic and I think that could play well into any defense.
Also he has the build/skill set of a weakside linebacker which, as I’m sure you know, is currently occupied by grandpa.
"Ryan, under center. Single receiver set, to either side. Ryan, gonna throw. First professional pass.....CAUGHT!! Jenkins! 30! 25! 20! 15! 10! 5! He lives in Atlanta!!!" -Wes Durham
so in other words
He has intangibles like Matt Ryan.
We’ll see if he’s drafted.
