Toby gerhart

what round is he suppose to go in? if its 4th or so does anyone think it would be smart to see if we could trade norwood and have this guy as back up. he looks like a beast. norwood is injury prone and loses speed everytime he gets hurt. do you think it wise to use one of our to 3rd or 4th round picks to strengthen our rb core. i know our top two rb's getting hurt was not normal, but it could happen again. norwood is inconsistant and snelling is not the best number two option, all though he can cath. look at him and tell me what you all think. just spit balling here

Star-divide

if you guys have any other rb's we could get later on that is not well known let me know. im very interested on the offensive side this draft even thought it is not as important. let me know about wr, oline, and rb we could and should get and what rounds if possible. i love sleepers in the draft, or even well known people going late

If we get rid of Wood

I hope we go for another Chris Johnson type back. I like Toby and he might do well in our system but the fact that his running style is so Turner’esque it makes for predictabillaty. If we have a smaller slot RB/WR it gives us some fresh looks and more options. I like Dexter Mc. He has a small frame but little dude can shake and bake. He looked ok at the combine.

I agree

Dexter Mc can definitely make people miss, I think he’d be a great addition.

I could see Gerhart being a RB/FB hybrid

Which could be useful down the line if we wanted a replacement for Snelling/Mughelli. I don’t know if it’s a priority.

BTW

Thanks for keeping the FanPosts alive these last few days. Glad to debate this stuff.

Can you imagine how disproportianately popular a white running back would be in Georgia?

As far as tackle football goes, Gerhart’s very good… wouldn’t be the change-of-pace most teams prefer in their backup HBs. I doubt we’ll draft any power backs since we already have three.

What do you mean by "white"?

No but really does it make any sense to have this guy. I guess he could block a bit. Run D. MC.

He means

that his skin color is white

No, but maybe someelse

I have been commenting in a while, but RB situations got me willing to write something. I agree with some of you when he is not our best option, since he really isnt a change of pace for Turner. I like some other RBs that we could get later. Dexter is a good choice, or that kid from Tennesse. There are some other options out there. What does anyone think of Thomas Jones coming out of the free agent market?

Scat back

would be the better move, in my opinion. We have Turner and Snelling, so there are your smash mouth runners. McLuster or Spiller (not going to make it out of 1st round) would be fantastic because you would also have them for punt/KO duty.

Check my band out on iTunes. The band name is Legend Has It and the album is titled "Driven." Let me know what you think.

I know a third round pick that would be sick

if the guys there i hope we would take him and his names jacoby ford an absolute monster when it comes to speed you think he could fall that far

by mistab50 on Mar 2, 2010 5:55 PM EST reply actions

I think he will fall that far

Given some durability concerns. He would stretch the field, to say the least, but he might be too close to Harry Douglas.

im not sure

i think he has hard to believe even more up-side than harry douglas and we don’t know if harry will keep his speed and he could be the one to get the wide reciever reverse we like to do here and there and he can play running back like percy harvin he has done it before at clemson
