Around SBN: The Pros and Cons of an 18-game NFL Schedule

I know this isn't really Falcons news, but I thought some of you might be interested to know that Alge Crumpler is likely going to the Patriots. Crumpler was a beloved Falcon in his days here and did a lot for our team. I still hold him in high regard and I'm always happy to see him achieve success. Good luck in New England, Alge.

Now I'll get to watch him play all the time

And weep bitterly every time.

We cut ties with Crumpler right before he fell off a cliff, talent-wise, but I’ll always like the guy.

Tell him I said "hello."

Thanks for bumping this onto the front page! Not quite Falcons news, but Crump was indeed a good guy and a hard player for us for several years. I’d do the same for Kerney, too.

Crumpler is an amazing, class act.

My red falcons jersey is a number 83 in his honor (I actually taped over the word “Crumpler” and wrote “Dugluss” in with crayon).

He is missed. I hope he catches on there, but I still don’t think I can watch the Patriots.

Funny story...

about your jersey.

I’m a rarity in that I actually like the Pats.

But seriously

I wish all the best to Crump and hope we see him in the super bowl.

oddly enough

I was waching some Falcons games on tape of the 2006 and 2007 season, thinking why did we let him go, could have been a great complement to Tony Gonzalez!

I thought he left on a sour note with us.

I don’t know why, but I seem to have a negative last memory of Crumpler.

It may have been because he was a big supporter of Nameless QB when all that crap was going on, and anything before that is a little fuzzy for me.

I do know that the man was the only person who could catch Vick’s flamethrower fastballs, though.

He’ll have fun on the Pats if they sign him.

I think he was starting to sour the locker room a little...

which surprised me. He HAD just gone through Petrino, though.

that all sounds true

But I think his conduct regardless was fixable. Besides, he was a beast! I haven’t heard much from him since. Hopefully he’ll make due in NE.
