Golden Tate
Tell me if this guy was on the draft board when the 19th pick comes around to us that you wouldnt want him as a falcon. before people say it. i kno we need a olb or de. but i think not having the recieving core like some of the great teams is hindering us. ( see the saints) our D is young, give them a chance to grow. TD is great at finding talend late in the draft so a pick is never usless to us no matter how late it is when you got the comrade on your side. so why not offense. i say grab the best talent on the board. Like i have been saying this years draft is D heavy. if cj spiller or golden tate are on the board, i hope to god we grab them.
i see that we only need a olb and o line as a NEED in the draft for Dfense. that should be easy with TD's eagle eye for talent. so we need a dynamo offensive pick. so voice your opinion on good offensive skill first and even third round picks. even you are against my rant tell me if you had to choose. (i kno everyone wants grahm or weatherspoon so no need to say) also..... gambit or cyclops.

originally I liked the idea of trading down, getting 2 x 2nd round picks, and drafting TATE, and a RT.......
……. giving our Franchise QB all the surrounding talent he would need to succeed.
Now, Tate is going 1st round, but I think #19 is a little high for him, as I see him as a great slot WR, but not a starter in 2 WR formations.
Spiller on the other hand wont likely be there.
Why exactly do you think he’s “SLOT ONLY”? Because he’s 5’10"? Lee Evans, Santonio Holmes, Greg Jennings, Donnie Avery, Mario Manningham, and Chris Chambers all have very similar body types AND styles of play to Golden Tate – they seem to be OK as starters. Not to mention possession guys like Laveranues Coles and Derrick Mason. Or even smaller guys like Steve Smith (CAR) and DeSean Jackson.
And the rankings I see don’t show him (#27 prospect) as much more of a reach than Falcoholic favorite Sean Weatherspoon (#24).
He’s not my #1 hope for the first round pick, but I don’t think he’d be a bad pick by any means…

I’m not against offense with the first pick but I’m completely against Tate and a RB with the first pick. Tate, Spiller and Best played very well in college and I wish them all the very best in the NFL (May they even burn us for a score every now and then, but not to many). However, the Falcons biggest needs do not include the WR or RB positions. Yes, “it would be nice if” we had an upgrade at #2 WR and Yes, “it would be nice if” we had a RB that could take over the #2 RB position. If our top picks don’t include QB pressure or protecting our own QB, I’ll be floored. This opinion is based on staying at the 19th pick mind you.
Has everybody forgotten about
Harry Douglas? Almost everyone on this site last year was expecting a break out year from him until his injury. IF he’s healthy I fully expect him to put up great numbers.
You cant
expext douglas to come back as a great player. he has been hurt for a year. he is less durable. sure he may be good, but look at it as a year behind everyone else

He got hurt so early last year that he'll be ahead of normal ACL recovery.
He won’t be 100%, but he’ll be a heck of a lot better off than he would’ve been had he gone down mid-season.
People that play in the NFL aren’t just talented, a lot of them are very passionate about the sport as well. When you have that much passion and desire to play the game, you tend to continuously strive to get better and better every week, even when you’re injured. You think Michael Turner wanted to sit out? Especially on the verge of Falcons history? Heck no. You know Matty Ice didn’t want to sit out either. And you know they pushed themselves to the brink every minute of every day trying to heal as fast as possible. The Falcons are a classy, well-run organization with a great staff and mostly high quality players (weed smoking doesn’t bother me much, DUI, on the other hand, bothers me a bit.) so you know they’re going to do whatever they can to be in the best shape imaginable as often as they can.
Believe me, Harry “HD” Douglas will be back as a force to be reckoned with next season.

now
im not saying he’s gonna come back and put up a 10 td 1000 yard season or anything but IMO he will be a game changer
WR???
How about Roddy outside on the left, Douglass in the slot and Demaryius Thomas out of Tech on the other side? With Gonzalez, that is a formidble offense…
I think its possible...
Michael Jenkins has really disappointed this past season, so it’s possible. But I doubt Dimitroff would spend a 1st-round pick on a WR. He’d be the kind of guy to try and find someone in the later rounds.
