Football Outsiders' Super Bowl XLIV Preview
Aaron Schatz and Bill Barnwell analyze the matchups for the big game, using their DVOA stat and game charting results. They conclude this is the closest Super Bowl pairing since FO launched in 2003.
Also, Pro Football Focus has done several interesting matchup posts, like Saints Coverage vs Colts Receivers, and Saints Offensive Line vs Colts Defensive Line. These positional breakdowns are done Dr. Z style (many more on their side-bar).

OH NO! PFF!
PFF are run by guys from the UK who post on NFLUK. They do some great work but are horrible elitists. They think they know more than anyone, and while they are knowledgeable, they talk down and insult you if you disagree with them and their stats.
Also, their ratings have murky origins that they dont like to share with people due to patents etc…
go hard or go home
What do you mean murky origins?
I didn’t find their site until about halfway through the 2009 season, but since then I’ve been hooked. I’m not crazy about the “grading” of the players, but their snap counts (if they’re even close to accurate) are invaluable. I also compared their CB pass coverage numbers to some of my game charting numbers, and they seemed to be pretty accurate.
If they’re just jerks I can live with that, but if you’re telling me their numbers aren’t reliable I’m gonna be heartbroken.
