A Look Ahead: Three Game Road Trip

Our beloved Atlanta Falcons are 9-2 and sit alone atop the NFC! Who woulda thunked it? But, let's not put ourselves in the Super Bowl just yet, for we have a very tough test up and coming. A three game road trip going to a 7-4 Tampa team, a 1-10 Carolina team, and a 5-6 jekyll and hyde Seattle team.

Let's start with the bucs. They are 3-2 in Raymond-James Stadium.  They are averaging 17 points at home while their opponents average 23.2. They have only been blown out twice this year, and both times were at home. They lost 38-13 to the Steelers and 31-6 to the Saints. What is odd is that such a young team is a MUCH better team on the road, but that also goes in our favor considering we only beat them by 6 in the Georgia Dome. Cody Grimm, the bucs starting safety suffered a broken fibula against the Ravens Sunday as well as their starting guard Davin Joseph who suffered a broken foot, both are now on injury reserve. With these injuries, i think it gives us enough of an edge. Falcons win 24-20

Oh the Panthers. Is it the lame duck coach John Fox? The bad QB play? Lack of defense? I dont know but something is up with this panthers team. Some predicted them to finish second in the division this year (Peter King) and yet they are the NFL's only 1 win team. I honestly can't think of any scenario where we lose this game. Falcons win 35-10

And to top of the road trip, we have the good ol' depressing city of Seattle. Another 3-2 home team, who averages 22.2 points at home and gives up 23.8. And like the bucs, they have been blown out twie, both at home losing 41-7 to the Giants and 42-24 against the Cheifs. I honestly think this game depends on the weather. If it is just cold (which it will be) but with no rain or snow, we are going to win. But if its normal December weather in Seattle, around 34 degrees with a constant light drizzle, i think the 'hawks are much better prepared. Not to mention this will be our thrid road game in a row. Even though we are built for bad weather with the run game, i just don't know if we can rely on the run game alone. I'm gonna be optimistic and say no rain, and Falcons win 13-7...but this could be either way.

So I do beleive we will go 3-0 on this road trip but it could VERY easily be 2-1 or 1-2 if the bucs decide to make a huge statement.
