92 Chauncey Davis - 16
Defensive Tackles:
95 Jonathan Babineaux - 44
91 Corey Peters - 35
99 Vance Walker - 24
94 Peria Jerry - 8

25 William Moore - 56
20 Brent Grimes - 56
23 Dunta Robinson - 51
21 Chris Owens - 20

Notes: We went mix & match with the D-Line more often, especially the DE's (not always 98/92 together)... Majority of snaps were in base 4-3 (39 of 56)... Corey Peters (1Q/2Q) and Dunta Robinson (3Q/4Q) both missed snaps after being banged up, but both were able to return...

Great work
I’m noticing that Peria is still getting almost next to nothing in snaps. Could it be a performance thing or an injury one? Very interesting stuff.

Thanks for getting these up, man
Interesting to see Vance Walker take such a jump in snaps. Like Grayson, I’m curious about what the hell’s going on with Jerry.

Babs and Peters are the obvious "starters"
And are in the game in all scenarios. So far Peria Jerry has been strictly a sub in Nickle (or obvious long to-go situations). Last week especially, Vance Walker seemed to be the specialist in the “Run Stuffing” situations, coming in the game for short to-go situations. With the similar strengths/focus of the CLE and SF Offenses (i.e. run heavy), I think we’ll see a similar break-down this week: not a lot of Nickle; more Vance & Chauncey than usual.

Peria went over a year
without playing football. I hope that it is just conditioning and he eventually becomes a force in the rotation.

Is Sid dead or something?

GO FALCONS!!
Is anybody else worried that we don't have a replacement for Curtis Lofton?
He played every defensive snap. Obviously Nicholas was in a lot because Spoon is hurt, but besides that, we have little to no depth at linebacker. I feel like this needs to be addressed in the offseason. It is time we abandon some of the experiments on the defensive line and start addressing the depth issues on the rest of the team.

?
How can you say that when all of our linemen (except Sid, for some reason) are clearly contributing and constantly making plays? Our d-line depth is wonderful, and it’s part of the difference between last year’s cream puff defense and this year’s badass one. And we got pretty damn good play from our backup Sam-backer, which is good depth to me. Anytime you have multiple linebackers go down, there will be issues with depth. I think our defensive depth is about as good as you could ask for.
I'm thinking about the numbers behind it
Three linebacker positions-4 capable players. 4 D-Line positions-8 capable players (not including Sid). Is it really necessary to virtually have a starter and backup for every position on the D-line and only have one backup linebacker for the three linebacker positions? Don’t you think Lofton could use an occasional break if our offense doesn’t hold the ball for 35 minutes in a game? I just think we need to address the lack of depth at linebacker and I think the D-line is the area we could take away a spot from.

I see what you're saying
But Coy Wire has played well in short spurts in the past, and we literally have no idea what we have in Spencer Adkins (he could be awesome). Also, Peterson has played MLB in the past, so I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as 4 capable players for 3 LB positions. I do think they’ll probably draft more backups next year though (Peterson’s 34 and in his last year of his contract; Wire is 31 and under contract through 2011).
