Can Tony Gonzalez overtake TO for career receptions?
Given their age differences (TO at 36, TG at 34), at some point, probably. But what about this year?
Active Career Receptions Leaders
Terrell Owens: 1037
Tony Gonzalez: 1023
Lifetime, TO is at 4.9 receptions per game. TG at 4.8. I'd have said emphatically yes if TO had remained a "number 1" receiver at some team desperate enough to leave him there, but now that he's at Cincy with Chad Ochocinco as the number 1 option, the aging TO may see his catch-per-game average rise from his season total of 55 of last year. Hell, this year after 5 games he's already got 31 catches.
This will be a fun race to watch this year.

Definitely not this year
But if Gonzo plays two more seasons, he’ll likely pass T.O. The problem is that both are physical freaks and could conceivably play for a while longer.

I'm not sure I see him playing two more seasons
He’s already publicly contemplated retirement, and the only way I see him staying is a deep run in the playoffs or even a SB appearance, but not winning it all. I think if we get that far then he’ll be tempted to stay for the opportunity, but if we go all the way then I would think he would like to go out on top.
