WR Harry Douglas Goes Down with Knee Injury
This could be disastrous for our receiving corps and exacerbates the situation with White's holdout. Doctors will be getting back to the team tomorrow.
UPDATE: According to Sports Illustrated, "After catching a pass, Douglas fell and grabbed his left leg. He tried to stand with help from teammate Michael Jenkins before again falling to the ground."

Here’s a comment from somebody that was at practice (Torgo, 3rd comment down). Doesn’t sound good at all…
Sweet fancy Moses
This is the worst news I’ve heard in a while. I hope he’s alright…

Good luck Harry
I have a grim vibe on that injury, I hate to say. This indeed increases the focus on getting White signed (and picking up quality depth if the diagnosis is bad).
Roddy needs to grow up and end this holdout bullsh!t. Ever since his Monday night “Free Mike Vick” T-shirt display, I’ve wondered about his judgment.
Time do look at Matt Jones...
4 years in the league, maybe Ryan can help his production catch up to his talent…
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

I'd rather not go after Matt Jones
He has an incredible combination of size/speed and Coach Smith is familiar with him from his days in Jville but he is too immature and has too many off the field problems (cocaine if u missed it)

Damn
I almost feel like I jinxed us by citing injuries as the only thing that could stop our offense this year.
Anyone have ideas about what we do to replace HD if this turns out to be worst case scenario? Marvin Harrison is out there…I know he is approaching the end of his playing days but if he would accept a small role and a smaller paycheck I think he could provide quality wisdom/guidance for the young WRs we have on the team, also Matt Ryan could benefit from working with a guy that helped to make one of the top 2 QBs in the league today

Harrison? Interesting....
But I don’t know if anyone wants to take a chance on him with all of his legal woes.
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.
legal woes?
I thought that whole gun incident was cleared up…or am I mistaken?

according to wikipedia
he was being sued for a shooting outside one of his businesses in Philadelphia in April, 2008. Supposedly the case was closed due to false accounts back in January, but now supposedly a new victim that got caught in the crossfire is trying to sue him, saying they saw him as a shooter.
I dunno… as much as I would like to have Harrison as a powerful stopgap and reliable Douglas replacement for this season, I don’t forsee the Falcons taking the chance.
know what you believe in and why you believe in it
Harrison
He wouldn’t stay with the Colts for a reduced role, I doubt that he would come to ATL for the same. IMO

you guys shouldn't be worried
I might be biased.. but you have Brian Finneran!
President of the Ramses Barden Fan Club
It ins't Finn im worried about
He was great depth, with HD out he moves up a spot on the depth chart. I’m worried about the hole that creates behind him.
I think the biggest thing bothering all us Falcoholics is that we were expecting great things from HD this year, nothing against anyone else on our roster

Bad, bad news...
Douglas out for year with torn ACL. Adam Schefter says he has confirmed it.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m absolutely crushed by this news. I love HD. Damnit damnit damnit.

And Dave said it all
Damnit damnit damnit.
I was avoiding commenting on this thread because every time I tried to my vocabulary was infested with many colorful adjectives along those lines.
the term “crushed” is also an understatement…. I don’t think I really need to go into a rant about the potential I felt this guy had and this was his breakout season to be…
know what you believe in and why you believe in it
So which Patriots receiver are we going to trade for?
Gotta think that’s what’s coming. Greg Lewis?
WOW
I completely jynxed HD…
I was talking to my dad about the White hold-out, and I said HD is going to fill in fine, unless he gets some severe knee injury.
Im really questioning whether or not I should vontinue talking about the Falcons.
Damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks front office for getting rid of Laurent Robinson for nothing because we were “so deep” at receiver. That is going to haunt us just as I thought the day it happened. At least we have Fin, but the HD news is truly devistating…..devistating. DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't that pick become Vance Walker?
I make that trade all day long…

TIME TO MAKE A MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!1
The falcons really should make a move to sign some of those big name free agents. True some might have behavior issues but we need WINS people. If Mike Smith and Arthur Blank dont start making moves like the Patriots, Cowboys, and other pretigious programs they’ll see the team make the playoffs and lose EVERY year. I love the falcons but we gotta compete!! dmnit
