Throwback Uniforms to be Unveiled Tomorrow Night

The Falcons' Director of New Media Daniel Levak has given me the go ahead to reveal that tomorrow night at 9pm, the Falcons organization will be unveiling the throwback 1966 Falcons Unis on the official website. The team plans to wear the uniform for a home game this season. This morning's photosession included Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, and John Abraham posing in full gear. Also, the team will be selling throwback items, including 6 player jerseys and the option to customize, beginning tomorrow evening. Be sure to check it out!

It seems most every sports team has a "blackout" sort of uni

I guess black just looks good. Wasn’t aware FSU had one…

I'm normally not a fan of puprle

But the ravens all black and purple is probably my favorite uniform in sports.

And FSU just started wearing the all black like 2 years ago.

And I think TCU brought one out a few years ago that was black with that dark purple.

I swear if they come out with the throwbacks featuring the RED HELMETS, I’m buying beer for everyone. :)

About that poll

I’m curious as to how people voted on that vs. how old they are. I’d guess that most of us voted for the uniform the Falcons were wearing when they became a fan. That’s what I did, anyway.

Nah,

I’m (only) 33, but I voted for the 1966 Originals. I prefer the red helmets, but the 72-89 uni’s with the red jerseys look too much like uga’s for my liking… As a bonus, the 66 uni’s had the awesome thick stripes on the socks, and what looked like 3/4 length sleeves…
