Supplemental Draft
Senior DE Jeremy Jarmon has become inelligible for his senior season for using a banned diuretic. He will enter the Supplemental Draft this summer. He will hold a pro day in July to work out for scouts. After getting burned by not grabbing Jarred Gaither a while back I would do ALL due dilligence on these guys.

Any other guys ya'll know of declaring for the Supplemental Draft? This guy may be worth a late round bid, but if there was some OL help I'd rather see that come in.
Feel free to stone me to death with an all caps post if I'm way off base but with TDs talent detector on board, we can't really miss anyone out there that could help us could we?

I was just reading about Jarmon yesterday, and many think he’ll drift down into the late rounds of the supplemental draft. He’s clearly talented despite a lackluster season in 2008, and I wouldn’t complain at all if the team ended up picking him up.
Not really sure who else is out there right now…

feel as though this guy was putting it all together for a great SR season. Anyone know the stipulations on drafting a supplemental player? Can they play right away or do they sit out one year?
Also- this may be worth keeping tabs on for future declarations. Im sure some folks will also become inelligible. Thanks for the spot Dave.

so I looked it up
here is about.com’s description of the supplemental draft.
I don’t know if I am interested in spending any of next years draft picks on anyone at this point. I really think that we can get this season done with the personel we already have available. Why spend next year’s picks on guys that have already missed OTAs… something that our front office obviously holds as an important time for team building?

You know what the diuretic is for, right? Probably to mask a drug (most likely some form of steroids) to try to pass a pee test.
From the espn.com story:
He said at a news conference Saturday he had inadvertently taken a banned substance that turned up positive during a random NCAA test in February. An appeal was denied, in effect ending his college football career. Jarmon did not identify the substance and took no questions. Jarmon took the supplement while recovering from a shoulder injury and was not taking part in activities. He had been taking the supplement for 15 days before checking with the training staff, who told him to stop taking it.
His story is that he bought it over-the-counter to become “leaner” this year, and I certainly have no knowledge of him getting busted in the past – but I’m more than just a little skeptical about these kinds of things. By all accounts, he seems like a good kid, but it’s becoming very hard to trust athletes nowadays…
