A few years ago, I’d just say that was a sad story with a happy ending…
Now, with 2 young’uns running around at home… let’s just say it’s a little dusty in here.

My wife asked me why I looked all teary eyed.
I went outside tossed the football around with the kido. My family’s health is something I take for granted. Stories like this remind me of what a lucky man I am….
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

thanks for posting this
that was a fantastic article… it’s nice to be able to be proud of your football team not just for what they do on the field.

question
this was a fantastic article that also made me choke up as well. obviously the most important thing here has nothing to do with football, but it did bring up a football related question in my mind. i had been thoroughly confused as to why the organization was so high on Nicholas after he seemed to be absent last year, but this article answered that question and explained a lot as to what the organization has been dealing with around Nicholas. did anyone else come away from this feeling a lot better about our LB corp?

it helped
I mean… it added a little bit more to my steaming pile of cautious optimism.
I do believe off the field issues can affect a player’s ability on the field. However, I don’t think that Nicholas is an elite LB. Perhaps a decent one that won’t give up big plays (hopefully) or make poor decisions on a consitant basis (hopefully) – but he’s not going to be a guy consuming highlight reels either.

perhaps...
but what I gathered from this article is that we don’t really know what he’s going to be yet because he hasn’t really been in a good position to show us. the conflict i had was that we have these great evaluators of talent who kept affirming him, but we weren’t seeing why, and now we have an explanation that explains that conflict.
you may be right, he may not be “elite”, but now i have no reason to think he won’t be very good. guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
