CB Chris Owens is on board!
Our 3rd round and starting CB hopeful signed yesterday with Reynolds. Both are 4 year deals I reckon... It was reported by the AJC late yesterday. Owens needs to be in camp from the very begining...he needs all the work that we can send his way so that he can push to start.
This signing leaves Peria Jerry, William Moore, Sidbury, and Adkins as the ones left unsigned.
Generally the Falcons have no problems getting guys in camp on time. Any of the remaining guys unsigned worry you?

Since we already drove this topic off a cliff
I’ve always thought that the most interesting thing about communism was that its core principles were that everyone should work their fair share, work together, work for the greater good….and there are some who are surprised it fails miserably at every turn. That’s human nature, guys.
Yet at the same time, we expect our football teams to work like communists. Go figure.

Dave, you can force someone to give all they have...
Football is more like capitalism. The best play, play more often, get rewarded better and get more praise. That analogy couldn’t be more off… I could expand on this, but it looks like the misses has made my favorite, country fried steak and homemade mashed potatoes. If you’ll excuse me… =)

But your ideal teammates are guys who put the will of the team first, winning above all else and are willing to take pay cuts for the greater good of the almighty salary cap. Of course, there aren’t enough of those guys, so perhaps the ideal team vision is like communism.

Lets get back to the pie discussion...
I prefer Apple or Pecan. I can put up with cherry or Peach, but not my favorite. You throw a good sized scoop on Vanilla on top and I will go for just about any of them though.

Does strawberry cheescake count as pie?
I know cake is in the name, but to me, it’s more like a pie. With some fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries as garnish?
Hmmm, it depends on the size
Pie is a single level, whereas cake stands two + levels high. Cheescake falls into both depending on how its made. My wife makes it as a single layer pie, but every bakery and deli I go to here in J-ville makes it as large as a three layer cake.
Strawberry cheesecake is my favorite variety so far.

I agree
That Southern food > all others, but my wife’s from Louisiana… and I can say without a doubt that real (fresh) homemade Cajun food gives Southern food a run for it’s $$.
Cajun food is good
Real good. Call it bias if you will, but nothing ever seems to be as good as ole fashioned southern cooking. It doesn’t matter where you are, fill a plate with ham, fried chicken, greens, pinto beans, a couple slices of tomato and onion, and some fresh cornbread, well, you are instantly transported back home.

If you ever get down here for a game I’m actually afraid you might not go back north. Just think about it for a minute… (*whispers no snow!)

I'm one of those rare people who loves snow
Having to go cover accidents in a snowstorm is about the only thing that dampens my enthusiasm.
My Boss: There’s been a five-car accident because there’s six inches of snow on the road and everyone who drives will die.
Me: And?
My Boss: Go over there and check it out.

For cornbread dippin'
Best lunch I ever had when I was waiting working in a factory waiting to head off to boot camp after high school. Cornbread and Milk, still eat that for lunch sometimes now, but it was also what I ate in high school to keep my calorie count up while I was playing three different sports. Great filler.
Pinto beans on top of cornbread with diced onions and since I love hot stuff, I usually add pepper sauce with peppers.

dude,
I didn’t think we’d have a winning record
then…
I didn’t think we’d make the playoffs
then…
I didn’t think we’d go very far from there… that was where I was right and I found myself being much more disappointed than I expected to be.
All is well though, and I am actually much more optomistic about this upcoming season. So let’s all grab a tall glass of falcohol and toast to the 2009 season!

Same boat here
Before the season I was thinking 6-7 wins max. Then, as the season went on, barely missing the playoffs seemed likely. But by the time the playoffs actually happened, I was fully expecting to beat Arizona. But that’s as far as I thought the team could go – one win.
Nope
I was so pessimistic going into the season that I thought 7 wins was incredibly optimistic.

im the opposite. I always expect good things. When they dont happen it kills me. In the super bowl season I was walking aruond work every week after about week 6 saying we were super bowl bound. I was catchin hell left and right. then a few weeks later people stopped givin me hell and slowly started agreeing with me. I just had a feeling that year. I have not had it since then. Maybe I will get it again soon.

We aim to please!
And here is where I segue from food to beer using Pabst here as my conduit.
PBR is good sure, but for whatever reason (probably my dad), I just love me some MGD. Why is it that I can never seem to find it in any drinking establishment? Also, who else here loves Hooray Beer aka Red Stripe?

Red Stripe is quality
Lately I’ve gotten away from my typical dark beer fascination to try some really tasty white ales and lighter fare. I’d highly recommend Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat and Hoeegarden.

Lights
If you like lights, then I would suggest Landshark. One of my favorite lights, goes down super smooth, and you could drink a case without getting a headache. If I’m not mistaken, it’s owned by Jimmy Buffet.

I feel you on MGD
it used to be everywhere – and now it is nowhere.
I’m kinda hooked on Budweiser myself as a fallback beer though (Busch Gardens made me a fan for life, until you’ve had beer that was brewed within 24 hours of you drinking it, don’t judge me)… Preferrably I lean more towards more expensive beers. Beer really is one of those things where you get what you pay for. Some Georgia Sweet Water Pale Ale is nice and not too incredibly expensive.
I’ll have to try one of the ones you listed, Dave. I’m pretty hooked on pale ales as of late.
know what you believe in and why you believe in it
what about the countries oldest brewery?
I cant pronounce the name. I think it is yuengling? We never had it in ga until recently. I had a draft and it was pretty good. I usually prefer foreign beers more than US beers.

The Ying is good, especially from a keg (and upside down of course)
If you like beer, then I would suggest all to do a little research and find a local brewery to try out. I typically find them to be much much better than most mainstream beers.
One here in Jacksonville, FL is River City Brewing Co, and I must say the dark, pale, and light are all very good.

How on earth did I miss out on this post?
And wait a second, Land Shark is owned by Jimmy Buffet? I might have to stop drinking it. Damn.
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.
Why?
It’s still a great beer regardless of its owner.

Perception is reality
All I will be able to taste if I drink it will be the sound of Jimmy Buffet singing about cheeseburger’s and stuff. I don’t know why, but he is one of those musical artists that make my stomach hurt when I hear his music. Nothing against his fans.
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.
Terrapin...
Has a series of seasonal beers which are great. A few of them are “high gravity” such as the “Big Hoppy Monster.” Very flavorful beer of all varieties. Not sure of its availability outside of GA, but its definitely worth trying if you’ve never had it.
hmm
never heard of it. can I find it at any package store?

I would think so...
I’m pretty sure it’s brewed (or the company is located) in Athens, GA. Everywhere I’ve looked for it I’ve found it. If they don’t have it, ask them about it – they’ll probably recognize it and maybe order some for ya.
Thanks. I am writin it down.
