Falcons Minicamp

Do any Falcoholics plan on attending the first mini-camp that is going to be open to the public?

I know I'm going to be there. The gates open at 9:30 and the first 150 fans to arrive get a free $5 McDonald's gift card (there is actually an add on the blog site that says the first 300 fans now). There is also a contest running on the team's blog site that will give 5 lucky groups the opportunity to have lunch with Falcons coaches and players. The lucky selected winners get to participate with up to 3 of their friends (I'll probably only have one with me, so any Falcoholics that happen to be there will get to be the other 2... assuming the shot in the dark chance that I win). I know it’s a slim chance, but if I win the contest (which I hope you entered too), then I have your number, I’ll call you so we can link up.

In fact, are you interested in getting together for breakfast or something beforehand? I’m still not sure how early I’m going to try to be at the gate, but shoot me an email if you want to try to work something out

Sounds like a plan to me.

I’ll be there as early as humanly possible (read: however long it takes the future wife to get woken up and read), so we should definitely hook up somewhere in the Branch. Maybe they’ll be nice and let us score our McD’s money early so we can get some breakfast there.

Then again, I’ll wanna be locked on to that gate. My first minicamp! YAY!

And yeah, I entered the contest with all four email addresses and the fiancee’s two addresses. If I’m the winner, you’re in my group for sure.

This will also be my first mini-camp, I’m stoked. If my falcoholic T-Shirt gets here on time, I’ll be sporting that (thanks again, btw).

i went with verizon wireless group a couple of years ago and they had a HUGE breakfast buffet lined up, they might not do it on public day but who knows

What's the exact date?

I make it out to camp at least once or twice a year. In fact at one point I posted a video here about my trip to the 2007 camp right after the dog poop hit the fan. They have since taken it down for copy write infringement as I had a couple tracks off of James Brown’s In The Jungle Groove in the background.

I am down with making the trek with some Falcoholics!

I’m not surprised they had to pull the video. The rules were pretty specific on no camcorders (including cell phones with video). They have a list of appropriate cameras you can bring that have limits on the lense sizes and all kindsa stuff.

…it was Youtube that pulled the video because of the music I put as the background!

Timing is horrible

I really wanted to go, but Mother’s day + new baby = family time galore. On a positive note, she is dragging me back up to GA for the weekend, which is never a bad thing. It also happens to be my brother’s b-day and I probably will not have my Falcoholic shirts in yet.

If only the rest of the wrold catered to my schedule…
