A Very Falcoholic Discussion: Your Season Plans
As a guy who is desperately hoping to get to a Falcons game this season, I'd like to know where you plan to be on Sundays this year.
Are you getting to all, most or a few of the Falcons' games this year? Are you watching them at home? Are you tracking the games through CBS Sports? Let a fellow Falcoholic know!
Go!

I live in the heart of Carolina country
But I have season tickets. I’ll head to ATL for the games most weekends in the fall to watch the Birds dominate. Unfortunately if I can’t make it to the game the they rarely will show the Falcons up here on regular cable so i always have to head to the local bar of sports to take in a game.

Season tickets here...
So I can imagine I’ll be at all eight home games. And my brother and I are already planning on jetting up to Boston and attending the Patriots game. A friend of his lives about 10 miles from the stadium, so at least our lodging is free.

Hopefully,
I’ll only be missing the first Carolina game this season. Other than that, I’ll be at the Dome on Sundays, preferably with some Falcoholics beside me! Only two games are taken up. Need some more people who want to come, including you, Fearless Leader.
Away games will be spent in the luxury of whatever abode my future wife and I pick out, lounging on the couch with my laptop on me knees, enjoying my time spent on a Falcoholic Open Thread.

There's a possibility that I'll find myself
in Atlanta this fall. I might be visiting the padre for a spell. I’ll keep you updated.
Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?
Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.

Dec. 13 is on my schedule
Theres just something a about a Falcons-Saints game thats always fun. Its our biggest rivalry and has almost a college atmosphere to it.

I like to
spend my away games at sports bars, wearing my away jersey proud.
The only home game I have on my schedule right now is the opening kickoff game, I’m hoping to be able buy tickets to go to some more as the season progresses.

You'll find me
at the bar. Living in Wisconsin, my t.v. spews mediocre (see: Green Bay), horribly overrated (see: Bears), and “defense-minded” (see: Minnesota) football all year. So … I find myself relegated to the bar scene. Bad for your pocketbook, but good for the soul.

In a pub in London, or on NFL Gamepass...
I hate UK cable TV too much to shell out £35 a month on it, so my options are limited.
But I’m very hopeful that I might be able to make it across the pond for a game at some point… If I can get work to send me to a conference in Atlanta, that’d be favourite.
Sorry to be ignorant, but how does buying tickets work? Is it season ticket holders only, or can anyone pick them up? And is it sensible to book them weeks in advance, or do they tend to be available up until a few days before the game?
(BTW if any of you are over in London this summer and want to go and watch some cricket, I’d be happy to oblige…)

The rule is: plan ahead, plan ahead, plan ahead
The reason being: the NFL requires all teams to sell out of seats the day before a game or face a local blackout (punishment for not having enough fans to fill a stadium). The tickets are sold EARLY (Julyish) through Ticketmaster.com or you can go to StubHub.com to buy Falcons tickets from Season Ticket holders who can’t attend games and are selling away their individual game tickets. Buy early if you can.

Oh, and if you use StubHub...
Since you’re going to be using foreign currency, be sure to use PayPal so the conversion comes through. All transactions through StubHub are likely to be in American Dollars. Ticketmaster will be the easiest way to buy with the Pound.

Me?
Well, I am finishing up my studies during that period November 2 is when I finnally have concluded which will make me extremly happy.
I probably wont catch the games because here in Australia they usually show the same teams that were only good 4 years ago.

Sunday Ticket
Everyone else has bad teams but mine so we should be watching us most weekends. Missed out on the Chargers game around Thanksgiving last year which was a killer.

Screaming At The TV
Although I will be attending at the very least the Dolphins games. Slight chance of having on field passes for that one.
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.

Ga Dome
I will be at all of the games at my regular seats in the 350 section. Away games I usually spend at my buddies house in Marietta. We sometimes do it at my house. Cook some food, have some beers, enjoy the game. If anyone lives in the Marietta/Smyrna or Douglasville area and wants to come ove for one of the away games just let me know.

Well
When MIA gets his stuff together and slides on down the coast to Freakville, I plan on having a few Falcoholic parties for us and any other NE Florida, SE Georgia falcoholic that feels inclined to join me. Which means I might want to look at some form of NFL package because coverage here is dumb because the Jags are busy blacking out their games every single sunday.
The wife and I do plan on attending at least one game this season at teh Dome. Our family is a little south of ATL so it’s not that big of a deal for us, just the ticket price, food, and gas.

hahaha
you can count on me as a gamebuddy one of these sundays, I can guarantee you that. Even if we wind up having to pay for a channel for the day. I think it will be a lot of fun.
