3 Round Fan Mock Draft

I took over the Falcons as part of a Fan mock on a UK Forum. Some of the other GMs made some crazy picks so i decided to trade down twice to get value and then traded up again.

I ended up with:

Round 2

#55 - Clint Sintim - LB - Virginia

#57 - Rashad Johnson - S - Alabama

#58 - Marcus Freeman - LB - Ohio State

Round 3

#90 - Yet to pick

I figured that Freeman is perfect for WLB and Sintim is perfect for SLB and both would play the next 5-10 years with Lofton in the middle.

Great figuring!

I love the idea of having top linebackers as the corner stone of your defense. I hope the Falcons build like the Ravens with solid Linebackers and a great secondary!

I can dig it ...

are you thinking DT in the third round?

Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?

Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.

Im thinking

DT or possibly a purely catching TE for situational and i have a man crush on Donald Washington (DB – OSU)

i have faith in Trey Lewis.

So …

purely catching TE

Does that mean one of the following?
(a) You don’t think Peelle can hold it down
(b) You don’t think we need a dual threat TE

Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?

Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.

neither

I like Peele but i want us to take a flyer on someone who is a great catching TE for a role situation when we need to open it up.

I'd go DT at that point

There should be a guy that at the very least will foster some competition at that point with a solid chance of starting. If we’re not going to address TE in the first round with arguably the only worthwhile dual purpose player, then I would say no need to rush to draft another one until the 5th

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
