McAllister or Rolle?

Per ESPN:
The Baltimore Ravens have informed cornerback Samari Rolle that he will be released. Rolle, who was scheduled to make $4.1 million this season, had previously requested to be released. On Friday, Rolle was informed by the Ravens that he will be placed on waivers within the next few days.
Injuries and age limit my interest in McAllister and Rolle, but I'd wouldn't mind signing one or the other to a reasonable contract for added depth. Considering their extensive experience, if they can return to health they would solidify a young secondary. Plus we could focus on a DT, LB & SS at the top of the draft.

No Rolle

McAllister is a question mark because of injuries, but he’s still pretty good. Rolle has been slowly becoming a problem in coverage over the last couple of years, but he’s benefited immensely by playing in an excellent defense over in Baltimore. I might not bother with either of them.

They

would want more money than we are willing to part with.

Not necessarily ...

considering our 20 millish in cap space (before we boot He Who Shall Not Be Named). Given the absence of a splash signing thus far, it isn’t the remotest of possibilities.

could you see TD

the kind of guy who would give these guys the kind of contracts they are looking for, unless they are willing to take a massive pay cut, they arent coming to Atlanta. Thats why it took so long to sin LJ, he wanted to see if he could get a better deal elsewhere.

No ...

but it isn’t like Rolle or McAllister have all the bargaining power in the world. Not saying it’ll be either of those two, but given the current state of our CB corps, I imagine TD would be willing to spend a few million to sign a reasonably-priced veteran CB.

In ten years ...

I hope we’ll be saying that he was (for DeCoud).

I agree with you

Lucas is older, but he’d be the guy I’d target. Welcome to the site!

You did, if I'm not mistaken, during a WhereIs.

I would take either or…..but i would laden the salary with incentive bonuses for playing time …we dont need a 3 game player…it would give us a chance to pick one up in draft one the lower end and groom him…it was a shame to let foxworth go…
