Ravens sign Foxworth & Michael Boley visits NYG
http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/27/ravens-sign-cb-foxworth/
Baltimore continues to be one of the busiest teams on the first day of free agency. The Ravens signed cornerback Domonique Foxworth to a four-year, $28 million deal that includes $16.5 million guaranteed.
Falcons free-agent linebacker Michael Boley was at the Phoenix airport Friday, preparing to fly to New York for a visit with the Giants. Boley would be an ideal Giants linebacker and the fact they’re brining him in the first day indicates New York is serious about signing him.
Boley, who will visit with the Giants Friday night and Saturday, was an emerging star and potential Pro Bowler during the 2007 season with the Falcons. However, he fell out of favor late last season in new coach Mike Smith’s scheme and was used primarily as a coverage linebacker over the final few games.
Boley started most of his career at strongside linebacker, but the rangy 238-pounder could best be suited to play weakside linebacker. Boley is considered one of the top outside linebacker prospects in free agency

Agreed
Letting both of them walk—and perhaps Chauncey Davis—just doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. They must have a lot of faith in the draft. Guess they haven’t given us any reason not to.
Oh, and maybe Robert James is being considered for an open linebacker/safety spot? He should be healthy by the beginning of OTAs…
There has to be agressivness in both the draft and Free Agency.
It doesn’t mean you neglect the Free Agents or the Draft. Pay attention to both area’s.
I really am not happy at the moment and Tommy better pull of something ridiculous in the draft or I we will be in a spot of bother.
New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.
Whoa there ....
Free Agency started less than 48 hours ago.

Yes
But I was more referring to the Re-Signing of players not the aquisition. Losing Foxworth and Davis are huge loses in my view.

Gotcha
To be fair though, we haven’t lost out on Davis yet. Although we probably will. But he wasn’t exactly essential to our success last year.
Fox is a loss, but I’m confident TD has a plan in mind.

you never know
perhaps even though they were semi-consistant players, they were plagues in the locker room (I have no idea)… there is probably some motive behind this reasoning. I am just kinda hoping for the best.
Maybe the Falcon’s staff enjoys torturing the fans during the offseason and this is a new favorite past time?
Not too shocked
I must admit I’m not surprised about the Falcons free agency so far. I was banking on Boley leaving and the possibility of Brooking. I really thought the Falcons were going to push to sign Foxworth though. Looks like they will address their holes via the draft. I don’t see many free agents their even in discussions with at the moment.
With that being said…Do they make trades during the draft to move up? next years picks for this year?
"Just want the Falcons to win a bowl before I'm gone!"
I don't know ...
I really think they’ll pick up a corner or two during free agency. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they pursue a DE and a LB as well prior to the draft.
