Around SBN: Dana White Announces Koscheck vs. Hendricks for UFC on FOX

The Falcons seem willing to bring Keith Brooking back if they can get him to sign a cheaper contract, which I applaud. There's also some talk of getting Stephen Nicholas into the starting lineup if Michael Boley doesn't come back, which I'm a little less certain about. Stevie Nickels probably deserves a chance to compete one way or the other, though.

Thoughts?

I think Brooking come back for a cheaper contract, as long as we don’t offer the vet-minimum. Give him a honest offer, and I think he’ll take it. He doesn’t seem like a money-chaser type of guy.

I think we need to do all we can to resign our LB free agents (except for Tony Gilbert) AND add a replacement for Brooking high in the draft.

Nicholas

I honestly hope he can continue to develop … and benefit the Birds. But w/ 8 total tackles last year (5 solo I believe), he has hardly established himself as either Brook or Boley’s replacement.

Year before...

He looked pretty good his rookie year.

I really wonder about this team and how it uses linebackers. Guys that were contributors and playmakers two years ago are being put on the chopping block this offseason. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a bad thing, but I’d like to know why our talented LB corps looks like garbage now.

Maybe there is no Heaven. Or maybe this is all pure gibberish — a product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found a way to live out where the real winds blow — to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested...Res ipsa loquitur. Let the good times roll.

true

but I keep hearing stories that Boley is on the outs with the coaching staff. That he is a slacker and such. I have never seen him plat that way on the field myself, but then again my seats do kinda suck… lol.

Bring Brooking Back

I wouldn’t break the bank or anything, but I’d really love Brooking to come back for at least one more year and retire a Falcon. It would certainly ease our transition period if Boley signs elsewhere.
I don’t know what we should do with Boley. I have to assume his ‘08 performance is a more reliable indicator of what we can expect from him than his ’07 numbers. If that’s so, we should probably say goodbye and draft an OLB to compete with Stevie Nix.

Clint Sintim

Has anyone see him play? Would he fit in our system?
Some have him ranked has high as the 2nd best OLB in the draft. That’s surprising since I he doesn’t have much name recognition.

Draft

I think they should take Pettigrew with No 1 if available, if not take the best linebacker or DT available.

Round two take the best lineback’/DT available or TE is Pettigrew not available at 1 or if safety Delmas is still definitely take him.

Round three the same.

Round four through seven oline or Dline or safety depending on how the other pickswere made.

I would be ecstatic if we come out of the first three rounds with a starting tight end, Defensive tackle and outside linebacker/safety. Use four through seven as I said.

More turnover this year which is good. Anderson is a bust. Thanks McKay. What a difference having professionals run the joint. Good luck Seattle!!!!! I hope we get a least a fourth rounder for Vick.
