Article about Brooking in the AJC
Here is the Link, check it out then we can discuss.
Brooking contends that he can still play, and to be honest i am of the opinion that we should keep him around, but bring in young talent that will be groomed to, or will go ahead and, take his place. Much like how we brought in Sam Baker and kept the good ol' badass Todd Weiner around. In case you don't know just how much of a badass Todd Weiner is please refer to this previous fan post.
Anyways, what are y'alls opinions? Keep? Let Go? Burn at the stake for biting on an underneith route on 3 and freakin' 16 in a playoff game? (i'm not bitter, i'm not bitter)
If he goes, who should we pursue and when? Does Brooking end his career as a Falcon? Do plaid pants ever go out of style?
I leave it to you oh wise readers.

Keep him
If he’ll re-negotiate his contract. Don’t quote me on this, but I believe he’s owed 8 million next year, which is far too much IMO.

Completely Agree with FrankyWren
I love Brooking and would love for him to retire a Falcon, but 8 mil is out of the question. If he would settle for about 65% of that then I vote for bringing him back one more year. If we don’t, who will replace him? Nicholas may have to replace Boley (if we don’t re-sign him) and Wire is a 30 year old backup.
If we lose Brooking and Boley, we’d be wise to sign a free agent like Karlos Dansby, then use a day one draft pick on an OLB to compete with Nicholas.

Yep
Agreed. There is just no way he can expect to stick around with that cap number.
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.

I love the guy too
And I’m sad to see him go. I’m hoping he’ll be a fixture at games once he retires, because I will always think of him as a Falcon.
