He had two really big interceptions. Brent’s (Grimes) play throughout the season has been fairly steady and it was nice to see him get the opportunity to make some game-changing plays and I thought both of those plays he made were game-changing. There was the one in the first quarter and then the one to seal the game at the end.

Grimes has been steadily mediocre this season. He played great on Sunday against a pick happy Sanchez. If he had some more size he would be a really good corner.

Grimes
had some excellent games, and some bad games. he’s definitely a great athlete (remember his INT in our game @NO?), but some QB used his size disadvantage a lot. I think it’s up to the DC (whomever it would be next year) to fully utilize the guy’s potential.

Did anyone notice
That despite him rarely having a starter’s role and being bashed often, Grimes leads our cornerbacks in all major categories? This includes tackles (55), passes defended (9), and interceptions (4). I’ve been a believer for a while in our midget wonder; all he needs is a bit better coverage skills and he could be incredible. And maybe high heels and/or stilts.

I feel like
He would be a solid number 2 corner. If we can go out and get someone to be a number one corner, and if we can solidify the interior of our line, I think our defense could be pretty good.

All he needs is more playing time and I will leave it at that, but I like the name midget wonder, although people don’t believe he is 5’10".

I don't care how tall he is
If he grabs two interceptions a game like that, I’ll pretend he’s nine feet tall.

Call me insane, but...
There’s a surgical procedure that you can have that will make you taller.
It requires breaking the leg at some point, at the knee, I believe, and inserting some kind of metal rod/plate in there to lengthen the leg. You can get 2 or 3 inches out of it. I saw some TV special about a girl who dreamt of being a flight attendant but was too short. She had that procedure done and added…..I wanna say 4 inches to her height. It requires a heckuva lot of rehab, but hey, if we could get ol’ Grimey to do it, we’d have the next best DB

Grimes
I’ve been as up and down as anybody here on Grimes. Sometimes he looks confused in his responsibility in the zone. Sometimes he bails out deep too quickly, and gives up an easy catch underneath. But really, he’s generally been very good in coverage this season. There is one spot he needs to work on before next season, though – Missed Tackles. Sometimes he is a bit out of control when he comes up to make a tackle in front of him, and is shrugged off for a bigger gain. Using Pro Football Focus numbers (through Week 14), he has 9 Missed Tackles. That is second most on the team behind Curtis Lofton (10), but Grimes’ misses are in way fewer tackle opportunities. Grimes is listed with 41 Solo Tackles (I ignored Assists), so 9 Missed Tackles in 50 Chances = 18% Missed Tackle Rate.
Brian Williams 26.1% MTR (6 Missed Tackles)
John Abraham 18.8% MTR (6 Missed Tackles)
Brent Grimes 18.0% MTR (9 Missed Tackles)
Jamaal Anderson 12% MTR (3 Missed Tackles)
Chris Houston 11.4% MTR (5 Missed Tackles)
Erik Coleman 10.5% MTR (8 Missed Tackles)
Curtis Lofton 9.6% MTR (10 Missed Tackles)
Mike Peterson 6.3% MTR (4 Missed Tackles)
Thomas DeCoud 4.8% MTR (3 Missed Tackles)
Everybody else had 2 or fewer missed tackles. By the way, this is another data point in the “Brian Williams was not our best Cornerback” column.

wow, good stats
they kind of go against the grain – and I am talking about Williams.
I am wondering if Abe’s numbers here include missed sacks -he’s been so close in so many plays to sacking QB and yet would come out empty-handed.
