Aw, that sucks
Poor guy sure has had the knee issues the last few years, wish him luck next season. I hope we’ll be seeing more Weems at WR the next few weeks, let’s see what he can do!
Once more...
…it’s Finneran, begin again. Gotta feel for the guy, who’s done nothing but play hard since he’s been in the ATL when he’s healthy.
Finn might be near the end of his career
He has been a great, good hands niche player but, the injury certainly doesn’t help his situation.

Just when you think someone else couldn't POSSIBLY go down.
Here we are. What curse has been bestowed on this team? I mean….really?
"Ryan, under center. Single receiver set, time on his side. Ryan, gonna throw. First professional pass.....CAUGHT!! Jenkins! 30! 25! 20! 15! 10! 5! He lives in Atlanta!!!" -Wes Durham
it must have been that play on the last TD drive when he got hurt
but he kept that drive alive…

as horrible as this sounds....
it was all for naught.
it’s a shame that life works like that, eh.
even so, they fought like champions on sunday.

true
I’m hoping they still keep him at least for the special teams. weems is good, but finneran’s size allows him to make plays not many can. he can play cornerback actually :)

Seriously, no seriously. Seriously? Seriously!
At this point I’m starting to wonder if I go out and have someone curb stomp my knees, would that suck the bad vibes away from the team long enough to allow them to play one game without putting someone out for the year? Haha, this is seriously getting ridiculous. Like, seriously. Just stab me in the face with a spoon.

I dunno
I think I may be the culprit. After all, I came back during the Saints game just in time for them to lose….

Well,
You gotta remember how close we are to the end of the season, and that it’s nearly impossible to make the playoffs. Unless it’s really bad, a PCL sprain usually puts somebody out about a month (a minor sprain, and they can play the next game, just with a brace). If this were early in the season, they’d just wait around until he was ready to come back, but since we only have 3 games left, they have to move him to IR so they can fill his roster spot. I mean, when Tony Gilbert went to IR (last week?), it was because he (re)injured his hamstring. Was it really that bad? I suspect most of these moves to IR in these last few weeks are because the team doesn’t have time to wait for their recovery.
What we really need to be doing, is remembering our favorite Finneran stories – this is probably the end of the line for him. He’s a 33 year old WR with a long history of knee problems, and he’s going to be a free agent this off-season. We may have just seen the last of him…

I'll remember how dependable he was when healthy
We talk so much about a receiver’s speed, leaping ability and separation from corners that hands are ignored unless it’s a glaring issue, but Finn’s digits were made of glue. Very dependable guy. I’m not sure how we replace him…

He can't run, but he was able to catch even an MV7 pass.
Hands like his are amazing. I can’t picture a team taking a chance on him, but I’d be really, really happy to be wrong…this once.
How many more days, Lord, must I walk through the wilderness?
GO FALCONS!!!
Hey
Finn is one of my faves. He is a cluthc guy on 3rd downs and a real nice guy in person too. I am thinking that this is probably the one that ends his career though. Another loss for this team.

This is gonna sound harsh, but...
as much as I like Finneran, i think it may be time to cut him. After the disaster that has been the ‘09 season, we really need to start getting serious about not loading our roster up with players who spend 80% of the time on the IR list. If there is a player that fits that description more accurately than Brian Finneran, i’m not aware of him. Yes, injuries can happen to anyone at anytime, but there are clearly some players that can’t ever seem to stay healthy. TD learned that the hard way when he spent our first 2 picks in the ‘09 draft on players who have histories of being constantly hurt, and lo and behold, i think the combined playing time for Jerry and Moore “might” be a total of 8 quarters this season, if that. So in essence, we may as well not have even had a draft this past year. I’m hoping that we start to incorporate “injury history” into our philosophy when we sign/draft/re-sign players going forward. If we do that, i’m not sure Finneran makes a lot of sense long term.

I dont disagree
I love the guy as a player. when healthy he is always a threat. I think this has to be it for him though. I am surprised he hasnt come out and said so himself. If it were me I would go ahead and retire. I dont see any way for this guy to stay healthy after this many injuries. I wish him the best. He could go back to radio immediately. I am sure they would welcome him back. He is pretty good at the sports talk thing.
