A Look At The Falcons Red Zone Performance: Week 11
This post is sponsored by Comcast and their NFL RedZone channel. If you're looking to check out red zone action as it happens, then you need Comcast's NFL RedZone. If you don't, your life will mean nothing.
As you might expect considering that the Falcons scored 31 points this past week, their red zone performance was generally pretty good yet again. Just outside of that and a little further down the field, they were absolutely atrocious. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The Falcons managed four touchdowns, a field goal and a missed field goal inside the red zone, which accounted once more for all of their scoring for the entire game. Our efficiency in the red zone is truly a grand thing to behold, but it's beginning to look like we just can't get those long scores that can change the tide of a game, as we're typically methodically moving down the field. Hard to complain anytime you score 31 points, but it's definitely an issue.
Against the Bucs, hopefully the team will continue to get things done when they find themselves inside the 20, and hopefully we see a couple of daring strikes downfield that pay off. That'd be a nice balance.
Thoughts?

First and Foremost
Let Turner ride the bench. Lets get it done without him and keep him healthy.

I agree
At least for another week or two. If Norwood is coming back, than a combo of Snelling/Norwood would be good enough (I hope) for a couple weeks. If we make it to the playoffs we would need a healthy Turner, not a 75% or worse Turner.

... not only that
But our offense should learn to survive and thrive absent Burner.
Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?
Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.

Couldn't agree more
Unless we’re just doing this to keep the Bucs on their toes, it’s silly. He shouldn’t be out there.

we are doing well in the red zone, but just curious how the numbers look on red zone D...
I hope to see something new from VG for this game – provided that Freeman doesn’t turn into a Manning overnight it would be a good opportunity to try new schemes (or getting back to old selves) before the Eagles game.

Yeah ... D-Led posted that in an article on AJC a few days back
I’m all for it personally. I’m glad he’s earning his playing time.

Offense looked great in the 4th quarter vs NY.
Will be nice to see more of that Sunday.
