I offer this up without comment because it's a worthwhile read, whether you agree with what he's putting out there or not.

What's the point?
Bradley has no conscience in opening old wounds, if it means an easy story for him. He’s making a big fuss about comparing apples & oranges, writing skills notwithstanding.
Jeez, when Ryan eventually loses a postseason game Bradley will be asking “Could Vick have done better?”. Get over it already, write about something relevant.

I don't think he's really trumpeting the closeness of the stats
So much as he’s putting them out there for discussion, which I respect. Personally, I’d rather have Ryan 10 days out of 10 than Vick, but I still find this interesting.

QB comparisons will always be fair game, I guess
The article was pretty factual and well written, agreed. I just hate seeing that tired old #7 business being raised again and again, ad nauseam. As long as there are sportswriters at the AJC, I suppose I’d better get used to it.

I think it's inevitable to some extent
People remember the “good old days” with Vick, when in actuality they were as up and down as the times we’re experiencing now, NFC Championship Game excluded. After watching Vick in Philly this season, I’m convinced he’s not the same player anyways, so I’m not sure why it keeps popping up. Until Ryan puts his stamp on this team consistently, we’re in for it.

The difference
is that I have confidence in Ryan to work hard, recognize his mistakes and lead this team to 10-6. Especially if somebody threatens the defensive secondary with imminent loss of whatever’s meaningful to them because pass defense obviously isn’t their primary concern.
I have equal confidence that, in a similar predicament, that Hokie thug Ron Mexico would have sulked, whined, posed for the cameras, and then gone home after losing the majority of the rest of the season to abuse animals and spread venereal disease throughout the ATL club scene. Good riddance.

Hey Bradley:
You’re officially devolving into T Moore. Glad the editors over at AJC are “keeping it real” …
Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?
Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.

Looks like he's on truth serum to me.
Super Bowl team in ‘98, a few years before Vick. Vick wasn’t around in ‘07 and we don’t really know what to call that except a disaster, then Ryan came along.
"Ryan, under center. Single receiver set, time on his side. Ryan, gonna throw. First professional pass.....CAUGHT!! Jenkins! 30! 25! 20! 15! 10! 5! He lives in Atlanta!!!"

That article ails
Maybe there is no Heaven. Or maybe this is all pure gibberish — a product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found a way to live out where the real winds blow — to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested...Res ipsa loquitur. Let the good times roll.

Or That Article Sucks
1.) Ryan’s completion % was about 60% and Vick’s was about 53%.
2.) It sounds like Bradley thinks the two are pretty even. I disagree.
3.) LOL for all the hype of the Mike Vick experience, all you get from “supastarship 7” was a measly ten extra yards per game? Wow. Whoopdy-freaking-doo.
4.) How about 4th Quarter come-from-behinds?
5.) How about games lost whilst >3 point favorites?

It's ludicrous to compare the two at all.
You have, on one hand, a QB that was a threat to run 50 yards at ANY given point. On the other hand, you have a pro-style QB that is mobile enough but not with the likes of any agile QB.
I’m tempted to spend a little while tonight comparing the two as a whole. The only reason Vick even had nearly as many yards as Ryan is because he ran like a fool whenever his first read wasn’t open.
Also, Vick didn’t have Turner. He had an aging Warrick Dunn (a fantastic RB, but not Michael Turner.) and at a point, TJ Duckett, a back who did nothing, essentially.
This is literally the perfect example of “Apples to Oranges”
You have Ryan, the first rookie in a long time to throw for 3000 yards. And then you have Vick, the first QB to rush for 1000 yards in a season. What kind of comparison can you possibly draw from two polar opposite players, both in character and skillset? Numbers be damned here, I think we all know which one is the better >>quarterback<<. Vick is easily the better athlete, but quarterback? I’ll keep the one we have, thanks.

And on top of that
It’s a guy who started 26 games over the course of several years vs. a guy who had to step in on day one and revive a supposedly hopeless team. Vick never had the potential for longevity that Ryan has, and I think a few years down the line it will seem insane that there was ever any question who was the better QB.

Ryan vs. Vick?
Bottom line is Ryan has the tools to improve. Vick…9 years later still can’t throw the football to a wideout.
Michael Vick thrived on completions to the tight end, and running backs, while Ryan thrives on throwing the ball down field to wide receivers and Tight ends.
I don’t want to hear comparisons regarding the running game. Warrick Dunn had a couple of 1000 yds seasons, and Vick also could have been considered a running back.
They are two completely different quarterbacks. Vick being the athlete, and Ryan an actual pocket passer. I couldn’t be more pleased with a quarterback then I am with Ryan. He’s mature, intelligent and gifted who will only improve in the NFL. The Falcons are in great shape for years with him guiding the offense.
