Vent Fest '09 (DO NOT read this unless you want to read irrational venting)

KDC made an excellent point in a different thread in response to a comment re: overreaction on this site.  It got me thinking: MAYBE everyone really deserves a place to vent.  I am not saying you can only vent here, but I think it might be a good idea to have a place where one can vent absent sarcastic responses, accusations of haterdome, and retributive malevolence.

We'll here you go.  I declare this (I'm not even sure I have this authority - thus feel free to delete this thread if it is out of line Fearless Leader) Vent Fest '09.  I doubt our collective frustration will be any higher than it is now in the near future (i.e., we're finally realizing this is not a SB team and - more than likely - not a playoff team, depending on how certain people recover).  Accuse Matty Ice of illicit drug use, call for Burner's resignation, question if Smitty's eye brows are simply throwing off the team's mojo ... your comments need not be rationale or based on facts.  In other words, opine to your heart's content!

I only ask that you recommend this, thereby allocating a space where irrational rants can be had until Matty and company turn this ship around next week.  THANK YOU and GOOD DAY!

You're far from out of line. This is a great idea.

Frankly, the coaching staff’s use of wide receivers this season has been a frustrating mess all the way through. It’s like losing Harry Douglas, they just shrugged and thought they’d go with Roddy White, Mike Jenkins and Tony Gonzalez, other options be damned. But with Jenkins struggling of late and teams putting an extra emphasis on covering White and Gonzo, where’s the quick outs that can save a young quarterback?

Maybe Eric Weems can’t catch. I honestly don’t know. But if you’re telling me a gimpy Brian Finneran and an aging Marty Booker are better gambles to run short routes—which, by definition, require a receiver to pour on some speed and get some separation—than Weems and now Troy Bergeron, then you’re lying to me. Simple as that.

Rational point

perhaps TOO rational to be posted here, if I may be so bold! I spend my valuable time navigating to this page hoping to read irrational crap, and instead I get reasoned thought? I want my money back!

It's not something I could back up with anything more than anecdotal evidence

So it went here. But if you’re prefer irrational, I’m sure I can oblige you shortly.

Matty Ice: worst quarterback ever.

We should have gone with iRonin’s original nickname for him: “Pedophile the Clown”.

Also: Eric Weems on punt/kickoff-returns? Dear God!

Why won’t somebody see sense and re-hire Adam Jennings?

GRRRRAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH, etc.

Solution to all of our problems!!

We should bring back Vick and Hall!! That would fix both the defense and offense.

Maybe we need to go to KFC and pick up some chicken, buy a goat and call for all witch doctors to come and remove this curse! Seems Falcon fans are paying for some mysterious mistake that happened many years ago.
There is no way all this crap can happen year after year and we can’t find someone to blame. Is it just me or are we always getting our hearts ripped out.

I think these were better placed in this thread
the Panthers suck, but we really suck. I have lost all hope at this point. take me now lord…
how many times are you going to burn Chris Houston on sunday?? 15, 20? You can do it as amny times as Manning wants to throw that way. Also, when you see that weak ass zone coverage, the middle is wide open. the secondary likes to stand still when in zone coverage. Movign is not allowed. Please feel free to pick us apart at will. then there is the run defense… really? do we have one anymore? um nah! We suck big time. Enjoy beating us over the head repeatedly on Sunday.
hey now. giants are going to drill us like the Aints did. Lets drink lots of Falcohol to lessen our pain.

and now that they have been laid here to rest, can we all please have our more cheery and blatantly optimistic Hardcore Falcon back?

know what you believe in and why you believe in it

Boy wonder is not who we thought he was

We re-drafted Doug Johnson, right now I think he is worse that DJ. I can’t remember the last time we had a QB that was going through this bad of a slump, come on man 2 int’s a game! He needs to get a film room IV stuck in him or something because he is not seeing the over under coverage on our wideouts! Our coaches dont see this, every other team has seen this and are playing him like Madden right now. He needs to fire the ball quicker three step drops, and please not to jenkins or he will drop it. He is weak gets knock on his can during bump and runs and plays like a kid amongst men.

by maxway001 on Nov 18, 2009 6:59 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah well

Doug Johnson might have sucked (he is a gator you know… LOL) but he did go to New York and beat the Giants on the road that one time. Maybe Matt can do the same this week. Wow, I hate it but I am getting geeked up again. I dont know why, but I think we may actually have a chance. Maybe.

Someone call Eddie George.

Get him a wheelchair if he needs it. TERRELL DAVIS. I don’t care who we get. I want a REAL running back. Muhammad Ali.

Matty Water: Every time you drop back, my heart stops beating because I’m scared of what’s going to happen. I then yell ridiculous obscenities at the TV when you throw an INT. I think we should’ve drafted COLT BRENNAN.

If the pressure is too much, just do like they do on Madden and take like a 30 step drop and throw the ball 50 yards in the air while running backwards. Don’t tell me you can’t do it, I’ve seen it happen on Madden, and Madden is the truth.

All irrational thinking aside, I’ve gotten some good laughs out of this. Great idea!

You won't like me when I'm angry...

…I tend to start up mobs. Elam deserves a very angry mob, armed to the teeth with pitchforks, torches, and unshaven faces.

To be honest, I’m still holding off putting blame on anyone. We’ve got a much lighter schedule ahead with our tough games at home. It’s definitely unfair that we had four opponents coming off bye weeks (to use the lenient word) but we’ve moved on very well from that, in my absolutely positively humble opinion. 5-4 is better than I first expected.

It’d still be nice to find the playoffs though. :(

One of the best ideas for a thread i have ever seen on any board.

It really torks my rod

That my real life time has prevented my spending anywhere near enough time with my friends here at the falcoholic.
That i haven’t been here to fire people up with useless info i have gleaned from webbrousing as i did last year when i had more time.
That my mind body and soul has been dealt as many blows each sunday as our defense has gone thru this year.
That the highlight of the falcon year has included DeAngelo Hall on our sideline.

OK. I am feeling much better now. Thank you.

I HATE:

a. These fans who seemingly think that our boys in Black and Red (1) are not trying or (2) simply don’t care. I’ve never heard such irrational crap from a level-headed, true fan.

These fans who think their one phone call away from being a GM, or OC, or DC … I love this board, but come on, there’s a reason we’re all watching the games from the stands or afar, so quit acting like you know better.

as much as I biotch about things I was just thinking the same thing earlier. We are in the stands because for one reason or another we are unable to be on the field. Tampa Bay Game

I suppose my hopes were just to high for my favorite team in football. It turns out we play this game with a second string Oline and quarterback and we still have no F ing kicker!!! why do we even kick Field Goals? cant we just punt or go for it I love Elam We went to the same high school for god sakes, but good lord!!! Im gonna have a seizure if he misses one more danm field goal!! that’s 21 points on the year we don’t have!!! I am sick over this!!! so we had to put our 2nd string QB ( who did very well for the situation) in a 4th and goal situation with less than half a minute to play to win the Game!!! On the flip side of that thank god we couldn’t win with a kick or we would have lost. anyone wonder why the hell we passed for 4 straight downs??? This all is enough to give me ulcers!!!

Elam I love you baby, we can have beers or some thing just stay off the field.
aaahhhh!!!!! we almost lost to the bucks at home.
may God help our Falcons.

thanks for a chance to post an irrational rant.
