Digging Deeper: Update Week 4 - Defensive Line
This is the Bye Week edition of Digging Deeper into the Box Score. I promised the cumulative (and revised) totals for the Defensive Stats, and I have them. I also completed charting the first three games, enabling me to give Pass Coverage stats. My goal now is to give an update of the cumulative totals every four weeks. Hopefully I’ll be able to deliver.
Defensive Line
For reference, here are numbers representing decent production (around #30 rank for Defensive Linemen):

Babineaux and Davis look great in these numbers. Biermann and Abraham started off strong against the Dolphins, but have been pretty quiet the last two games. Yes, Trey Lewis has more “Plays” in one game than Jamaal Anderson has been able to get in three. You can see by his Average Run Yards he was getting pushed around, though. Anderson has actually given away more yards (one 15 yard Roughing the Passer) than he has “allowed” (5 yards on three run plays). Just for the sake of completeness – the final season totals for Peria Jerry (one assisted tackle for zero yards):

Reminder:
Plays: Total number of Plays including Tackles, Passes Defensed, Interceptions, Forced Fumbles, and Fumble Recoveries (Special Teams tackles are not included).
Stop: Total number of Plays that prevent "success" by the Offense (success is defined by 45% of yards needed on first down, 60% of yards needed on second down, and 100% of yards needed on third and fourth down).
Stop Rate: Percentage of Tackles that were a Stop (I have lumped run and pass Plays together).
Defeat: Prevent Offense from converting a first down on third or fourth down, a Tackle behind the Line of Scrimmage, or a Play that results in a Fumble or an Interception.
Average Run Yards: Average Yards gained on Runs when this defender makes the Tackle.

We may have to re-post this and see if it solves the problem
Bizarre.

Yeah, sorry about that
The only thing I can figure is that the code for all those tables was too long, and it cut me off. I’m trying to split them up (I’ve got this one working, at least), and see if that helps. Problem is, it corrupted all my Defensive Backs info, and I don’t have the data with me right now… so it may be a day or two before I can get their info back up.
