Brooking a trash-talker now?!
Maybe we should have kept Keith Brooking around. I mean, sure, his skills have diminshed to the point that he has very little use on the field, but at least we could have preserved his reputation as a hard working, humble player with a team-first attitude. I am not sure who that was we saw yesterday wearing Brooking's number for the silver and blue. He sort of looked like Ray Lewis, well, except for the making great plays part. He only looked like Lewis AFTER the whistle...jawing, talking, jumping up and down....doing the bird dance? Really? Keith Brooking? It takes less than one season playing for the Cowboys and one of the proudest LBs in Falcons history has turned into this?
I thnk he had 2 tackles in the box score - but at least a dozen dances, celebrations and other nonsense that doesn't show up in the box score. Oh yeah, it looked like he was the one who blew the assignment when Weams was quarantined for the easiest TD you'll see in the NFL.
I understand he spent a lot of time apologizing to the Falcons after the game for his behavior - but he's always been better than that.

I don't think we can crucify him for one game
Remember that Brooking was a consummate professional during his tenure here and that he was very involved in doing good things for the community. Was he kind of a jerk yesterday? Yeah, I’d say so. Does that tarnish more than a decade of good work in Atlanta? No way.

Totally uncalled for...
In game, in the heat of the moment, sure why not… but post game comments were unexcusable. Sure maybe his ego was bruised, but that is the buisness, veterans get axed every year. A well respected man, not so much any more, hopefully doesen’t get into the Falcons Hall of Fame until or if inducted in Canton. Classless, I’ d love a Wild card/ Divisional/ Championship Rematch
Didn't the Falcons cut him?
I thought he was cut and wasn’t just a free agent when the Cowboys acquired him. I’m not trying to justify his actions, I’m just saying that if he was cut by this coaching staff, I can understand his emotions. And he did apologize afterward which is pretty classy, imo.
I thought that I read somewhere that he was told that he was just too old to play for this team. When someone slaps you in the face first, it’s only natural to rub their nose in it a little bit.

Payback is a B——! Ask Cedric Benson how he felt during and after the Chicago beatdown.(it wasn’t a game) Brookings had this game circle since he signed. Brookings has brought an intense attitude to this D.

Dude! The Cowboys are so freakin' AWESOME! Y'all are gonna win the SB for, like, the next 20 years!!! Best Football Team EVER!!!

Well, that's pretty true.
All of them for the next 20 years might be a bit too optimistic, but I agree with the rest.

I envy you then.
I wish that was available on other providers besides DirecTV. The Red Zone channel is nice, but I want the real deal. Or if they really want to make money, make games available on pay per view for out of market fans.
Much respect to the Falcons, but I never understood the thought process behind saying that a team that just beat you isn’t that good. Does that mean your team is just awful, then?

no not at all
what it means is that we played the worst game of the season. shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly and let an inferior team take advantage of all of our mistakes. It’s okay though. I understand that you guys are happy and think that you beat the Falcons, when in reality they beat themselves by playing like a bunch of senseless weak assed women. I hope the coaching staff breaks out the red hot pokers this week and reams all of them.

If that helps you sleep at night...
But, let’s face it, the game wasn’t even as close as the score. If the Cowboys played in this division, they would have made the playoffs last year also. They’re 8-1 against this division since 2006, including 3-0 this year.
You can squawk all that you want about inferior teams, but the game is played on the field and not on blogs, and the Cowboys have the same record, have a higher rated offense, higher rated qb, higher rated defense, and decisively won the head to head match up. If you want to believe ESPN power rankings, that’s up to you, but we all saw what happened when the teams actually played.

LOL - I'll leave you alone.
Best of luck against the Saints. Hopefully our teams will have the opportunity to create this argument again in the postseason.
Also, do you have a cousin named Terry?

No running game ...
and Matty Ice had a bad day. Romo knows all about those.

Yeah, BUT does it count as "payback"
When you vocally celebrate your teammates’s accomplishments when you missed your own assignment? If Brooking had a terriffic game, then sure – he would be proving the Falcons wrong. But the mere fact that he was too slow to cover the Falcons offense ( as pitiful as it was in this game), just as he was too slow to cover other teams’ the past few years only confirms that Falcons judgment that he is done. Despite all the cheerleading and smack talk.
Although I thought he hurt us more than helped the past several seasons, I always respected him for his class on the field and in the community. Yesterday was a big disappointment,
If this win keeps the Falcons
out the playoffs, I think it would be payback. Who knows? Too early for tiebreakers

RomoHomo
Suspiciously similar to ROTFLMAO?
Do you guys realize how long it’s going to take to pay for that new stadium? Especially since you can’t count on post-season income????

Um, none of us are paying for it.
And they have already secured a final four and super bowl there, so whether they make the post season or not, jerry has plenty of income headed his way.
Who CAN count on post season income? The Cowboys have been there more times the past 3 years than the Falcons and now are in better position to make the postseason this year than the Falcons as well, since they beat them last weekend.

Probably
of no consequence to him, since he’s a Saints fan.

Oh, let me edit, then:

Who CAN count on post season income? The Cowboys have been there more times the past 3 years than the Falcons Saints and will have the opportunity to play them head to head later in the season when post season talk is more relevant.

The apology speaks well of him
His antics were forgivable under the circumstances, I doubt he’ll pull that crap again on the Falcons. At least he was man enough to take responsibility for his actions and apologize. Say what you want about his ability, he always represented the Falcons well and tried his best. I remember when he played with cracked vertebra in his back, for God’s sake.
The Falcons are better off without his big salary, but I still wish him well.
Surprised by Brooking
But for what it’s worth, he has become very popular in Big D. And yes, he also makes plays. I love Brooking, and though I’m a die-hard Cowboys fan, I thought it was weak to make gestures like he did.
But nake no mistake, he wanted this game. The guy is a stud, or used to be a stud, but either way….he has been a HUGE upgrade over the other old guy we had in Zach Thomas.

wow
I just looked up the numbers – he has been producing for you guys. He made a lot of tackes for us the last few seasons, but too many of them were dragging down the TE after an easy 12 yard gain.
3rd and 17
