Please Welcome Bird Watchers Anonymous!
I wanted to give a warm welcome to Bird Watchers Anonymous, who will be covering the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL for SBN. I'm sure most of you will do a double take when you see The Falconer as the guy in charge, but don't worry: I'm not moonlighting for hockey.
This gives us a strong presence in the Atlanta sports market. As a reminder, you can visit Talking Chop for all things Atlanta Braves and Peachtree Hoops for updates on the Atlanta Hawks.
Be sure to warmly welcome The Falconer!

This is really gonna mess with my head
If I come here and start lamenting the penny pinching ways of the Atlanta Spirit or yell about what a bad influence Nic Havelid has been on Tobias Enstrom, please forgive me. That aside, its gonna be great having a place to talk Thrashers around these parts.
About that name...
Sorry our handle are so similar :) I came up with Falconer for my old blog site.
I suppose that is problem in a city where 3 of 4 sports teams are named after birds :)
I’m looking forward to being on a site where all the pro teams are represented. I’m primarily a hockey and baseball guy, but I do try to keep tabs on the Falcons and Hawks. I still can’t believe they lost to Cardinals!
Eh
Cardinals have gotten their second win. I hope they go all the way. They better, anyway.

Ignorant
I admit, I know little to nothing about hockey. I kinda want to. As such, I have no “team” even though I grew up in DC around plenty of Caps fans.
I think I am going to start rooting for the Thrashers. If anyone feels like pointing me to a good 101 I would appreciate it. Not so much on the theory of the game, but more the lore. What type to team have they been perceived to be previously?
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.
I've lived my whole life in hockey central
And it joins soccer as a sport I just cannot get into. The Falconer and the Thrashers have my support for a number of reasons, but please don’t ask me to actually watch a game.
Hockey = Soccer but more violent.
And just as boring! :-D
