Sponsors Buy Up Remaining Falcons Tickets, Save Season Opener

That's what I'm talking about!

“We’d like to thank our friends at WXIA-TV, WATL-TV and Comcast for helping us sell out Sunday’s game,” Falcons president Rich McKay said in a statement. “We are always proud to partner with organizations that seek to improve our community in a positive way. Because of their generous support, many deserving people will have the opportunity to see the Falcons make their 2008 regular season debut.”

As usual, the AJC has this one covered. Even though I don't live close enough to be subject to the blackout, it's comforting to see that that those of you who do won't have to weep into your $3 beers this weekend. Kudos to the sponsors.

Enjoy the game!

Hooray!

I hate watching the Falcons on the radio.

Would it be surprising if the Falcons quietly subsidized the sale of those 1500 tickets?
Given Blank’s PR instincts, I’m sure he was practically desperate to get a sellout and try to build enthusiasm.
