Chiefs game sold out, no local blackout

Star-divide

That bastion of fine journalism, the AJC reports that Sunday's game is sold out (by the fans, no corporate mass ticket purchase) and will be televised.

Kind of surprising, actually, given the way the Falcons played on Sunday.  I guess we'll take it, and like it.

I didn't realize that Georgia Tech's and Dallas' beloved former head coach, Chan Gailey, was now with Kansas City as Offensive Coordinator.  How wonderful that his many Atlanta fans will be able to cheer him on Sunday!  Gailey may well be the most average coach that Tech has ever had, a living monument to mediocrity.  The Emil Faber of the football world.

Let's look forward to a good performance Sunday.  If we play like we did against Detroit, this will be a lot more fun to watch than last week.

Go Falcons!

If the game is sold out

why can I still buy tickets on Ticketmaster, hours later? I noticed the same thing after the Detroit ‘sellout’ announcement.

That's funny

Strange the way the universe works sometimes.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.

Weirdest

“Sellout” I’ve ever seen. Didn’t look like a packed house….

Full House?

I wouldn’t bet your Olsen twin on it! Definately were pleanty of seats available.

If my mother put on a helmet and shoulder pads and a uniform that wasn't the same as the one I was wearing, I'd run over her if she was in my way. And I love my mother.

The Falcons specifically stated

that the ‘sellout’ was through sales to fans, not to corporate sponsors (see the article). If that were the case, tickets wouldn’t have been available on Ticketmaster until Saturday evening!

I don’t know what the Falcons stand to gain by announcing false information, but it certainly appears that they did exactly that. (Please, correct me if I’m wrong!)

Perhaps I should just be grateful to watch the Falcons on local TV, and leave it at that. Maybe it’s an election year thing, but this old fart gets pissed when lied to.

The empty seats may have been related to gasoline shortages in Atlanta due to the recent Gulf hurricanes. Local idiots are hoarding and making it worse.

Oh well, apparently it’s time for my non-prescription liquid sedative.
Cheers, Falcons fans!
