Doug Datish Is Back

You can take the Doug Datish out of Atlanta, but you can also re-sign him and bring him back to the city. I think that's how that saying went.

The AJC reports that the Falcons have booted kicker Kevin Lovell to the curb and brought back Datish, a versatile lineman who can play some center and guard. He's a bit undersized for starting duties, but if he sticks as a backup his ability to play all over could really help the team. I'm happy to welcome him back.

With Jason Elam signed and Morten Andersen's nursing home on speed dial, the team had no real need for Lovell.

End transmission.
