Sideline Report From Scrimmage

That's right folks.  You unofficial Falcoholic sideline reporter runningback here with some thoughts about the scrimmage.

I was able to score some media passes so I was right in the thick of things.  In fact at one point when the national anthem came on I took my hat off, looked around and found that Arthur Blank himself was standing about 3 feet away from me.  I will say this, he gives off a totally cool vibe.  Totally unpretentious.

I have to say that the high school were it was held was totally ridiculous.  It was the nicest high school I have ever seen.  It seemed more like an ultra modern college campus and couldn't help but think about how people who live in less affluent areas really do get screwed on many levels. But I digress as this is not a social commentary.

What really caught my eye was how AMAZING Jerious Norwood looked.  Him and Rody White pretty much stole the show. Norwood looked like Superman out there.  Electrifying the crowds with his running and especially on his kick returns.  Shockley got the majority of the snaps and I have to say that I am coming around into drinking the Koolaid on this kid.  He looked really solid.  In fact he loked the best of all the QB's which isn't really saying much as there were no standouts.  Matty Ice looked decent and more poised than I thought he would look.  Redman pretty much was painting by number.  Harington?  In the grand scheme of things he looked pretty pedestrian save for a couple of plays where he showed off some pretty impressive legwork.  Aside from that he really didn't stand out.

The D got the best of the O

It was nice to see Baker out there doing his thing but overall I say that the defense “won” the scrimmage. Another thing that jumped out at me was either a) our kick & punt coverage teams really stinks or b) our kick return teams where playing REALLY well.

I also have to mention Grady Jackson. It was really nice seeing him out there and he got an ovation when they announced his name. He is wearing a different uni # (91 instead of 90) and I don’t know how he managed to do this, but he actually looks bigger WITHOUT his pads on. The guy is a friggin wall.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.

Because he eats livestock whole?

Pads? He don’t need no stinkin’ pads! You know that recent earthquake in SoCal? Yeah, that was caused by Grady when one of the trainers inadvertantly asked him to jump so he could get his vertical.
