Falcons Sign Wilrey Fontenot, Thomas Brown
The march of the sixth round draft picks began and wrapped up quickly, didn't it?
The Falcons signed Wilrey Fontenot earlier this week, paving his way to (hopefully) become a valuable special teamer this season. He could eventually be valuable in the secondary, as well, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. There's not a lot of Wilreys starting at corner in this league.
Then the team signed Thomas Brown, a Georgia product gunning for Jason Snelling's job. While I like Snelling for his power potential, Brown is a very well-rounded back who is very likely to stick around. He's also not likely to have a huge impact in his rookie season, but somebody with his balance can only be useful down the line.
And if he does, I propose we steal a page from wrestling and call him "El Generico." Thomas Brown sounds like a witness protection name.
