Falcons Sign Chevis Jackson, Thomas DeCoud

As predicted, the signings are starting to come in a little faster now. After you sign your Keith Zinger, you've really set the tone for everyone else.

There's not a lot to be said here that hasn't been said already. DeCoud has a real chance of starting this year with a decrepit Lawyer Milloy likely in front of him, and at worst he should be a solid backup and special teams standout. What I really like about DeCoud is how polished he is at this stage in the game, because the team can be reasonably confident that the young safety is ready to play now.

Jackson is a little bit of a different case. With at least three corners ahead of him on the depth chart, it seems like Jackson will have to prove his mettle on special teams to have a ton of value this year. He certainly could be a #2 corner down the line, but his impact this year probably will be negligible.

Still, it's good news.
