Chris Redman vs. Matt Ryan Debate
I truely believe the Falcons will mess up Matt Ryan if they throw him in there right away. Some guys adjust well but I don't think he would will our terrible O-line. Therfore, let Redman take the brusies in the early part of the season and put Matt Ryan in around week 8. Once Matt Ryan becomes more comforatable witht the system he will be a very successful player for a long time. He may not WOW you with his stats but contains what a quarterback needs to win, sort of like our old pal MV7.

Smith Has The Right Idea
I think Mike Smith has the right idea already. He said he isn’t going to put a time limit on it. He is going to play the QB who is most capable of winning games. If that’s Matt Ryan, then put him in. If it’s Shock…well, it won’t be, but that’d be cool.

Why?
What makes him different than Pittsburgh’s Benny Steeler? I’m not saying he’s better than Benny, I’m just asking for your opinion.

The cast around Big Ben was vastly better than the current Falcon’s supporting cast. Just the O-line alone would make it almost definite that the Falcons start Redmond. We have too much invested in Ryan to let him become a quick casulty because the O-line has not jelled! By the third or fourth game, we will know what kind of O-line the Falcons have and if we should put our investment in the mix. I am certain that Ryan will definitely outshine the competition once he becomes accustom to the speed of the game, his teammates and the Falcon’s scheme. Just do not rush him after all he is human!
