Quick And Thought-Provoking Reaction To A Falcons Win
Yes!
Use this thread to discuss all things Falcons. The team can't possibly have a losing season now, and they're on the very cusp of the playoffs. I'm absolutely giddy with the very possibility.

Falcons vs. Bolts
The secondary did an especially great job of containing a great passing team, in addition Turner really utilized the O-Line to sand down the Bolts D-Line.
Lets do it again!

Michael Turner
would make the late James Brown proud, he’s officially the Hardest Working Man in the NFL. Turner has 282 carries, far and away the most in the league. Next are Portis, 255 and Peterson, 242. Don’t wear him out, Smitty, keep some gas in the tank!

Until I see evidence to the contrary
I believe the Falcons have the wild card spot AS OF NOW. They have the same record as Dallas, but were, last week, given the edge because of Conference record. Thus, It’s possible we’ve taken over.

Evidence support.
This story seems to indicate that I’m correct.

Wow!
Good game I think, but there are three things I am extremly frustrated about.
1. Can’t punch it in!—→ This is a joke, I mean all you have to do is run 2 yards and your there. There is a Pro-Bowl DT in the middle why not just run away from him? Watching replays our line went backwards on all four occasions at the end of the 2nd Quater. This needs to be fixed if we are to make a run at the playoffs.
2. Turned the ball over—→ Now this isn’t the biggest concern partly because we haven’t done it very often. However this should have cost us the game, if it were against some like Tampa or Carolina we would have been in trouble.
3. Can’t take the ball away!—> I think above all this has been my biggest concern. We just cannot take the ball off our opponets. I think that down the stretch we need the ball out of oppositions hands because it will cost us.

Getting turnovers.
I think this changes with a better pass rush.

The Bolts had 8 big boys in the box, thats hard to score on, Turner is 240+ lbs and they stood him up like fence posts, defensive stunts like that can be softened by running it to the outside with a speedster like Norwood, or a tightend bump and go.

Turnovers
shouldn’t have been a factor today. The Finn and Turner “fumbles” were both highly questionable calls, IMO. We’ve done a great job NOT turning it over this year, overall.

Wow
That was a mind boggling game. The Falcons dominated entirely, yet I still feel lucky that they pulled it off. I can’t believe that neither of the fumbles on us were overturned, and I can’t believe that Ovie and Turner at the goalline weren’t reviewed at all. But even with some bad breaks, the Falcons pulled it off. The secondary played outstanding. Outstanding. That doesn’t even describe how awesome they were. The team played well, they got no breaks, and they still pulled it off. Like the Chicago game earlier this year, that was a game that the Falcons never used to win. Just more evidence that this is a brand new team we have here.

"Yes, O Mighty Baron"
as Clutcher would say. It does indeed look like the Falcons sneak in, as it stands now. With 2 division games left, if we can take care of bidness in those games, we pretty much control our destiny. If we lose one of those 2, it gets mighty murky.

the best way to do it
is just win out.
then we aren’t talking about it.
We destroy the Rams, likely beat the Vikes, but the key game is against the Bucs. I’m assuming they lose to Carolina next week, which puts them at our mercy.

Bucs game looks huge, if we win vs. NO
Great defense has only allowed 16.7 points/game this year. Plus, they handled us pretty easily in our previous game (then again, so did Carolina)! Got to take it a game at a time though. Saints are probably going to me mad after the last-minute loss today.

Two wins and it goes to tiebreakers
Three ends all discussion.
The biggest factor in these last few games is Grady Jackson. Word is a decision on his appeal will come tomorrow or Tuesday. It isn’t expected to be favorable. However, people are saying that he and the other guys that got screwed over by the supplement maker are planning to file an injunction to allow them to keep playing. Without him, its gonna be hard to contain guys like Jackson and Peterson.

We’re one win off the pace. We beat NO, we beat TB, it’s all gravy.

any other year
and we lose that game. We dominated the stats and the D was fantastic but we had a bad mojo the whole game.
Ryan’s overthrow in the endzone, Douglas’ muff, the Chargers goal line stand, Finneran’s fumble (which should have been overturned) and the fake punt after a penalty. All of that normally spells L-O-S-S. Even with the blocked field goal, all SD needed was one drive, but they couldn’t do it.

If
TB beats carolina do we have tie breaker over carolina? Would certainly make us even higher in the wildcard race faster than a carolina win i would think. Also it would put us in a position to take the division with a win at home vs. tampa. No way Carolina beats the Giants even if the Giants play their scrubs. I would rather us see our way into a possible bye week by winning out and winning the division.

Whoops
I guess with Tampa Bays 8-2 in conference even if we win out we will very unlikely overtake them for conference unless Carolina wins this week. Sorry for earlier post before i looked at schedule and conference wins. How in the hell did a sorry assed team like Tampa get such an easy conference schedule? Pardon my French.
