Falcons jack up ticket prices
I just got my invoice for season tickets for next year. They bumped up prices big time. I have upper level seats on the 50 yard line, and this season they were $60 per seat. Next season they will be $85. I love what has happened with this team, but I stuck it out through this last off season when everyone else bailed and I feel like the management is really taking advantage of me and the loyal fans. I'm not happy and I'm not sure if I can even afford this. This is really upsetting. Anyone else as fired up about this as me?

I had a chance to get season tickets this year
but, with this economy, I lost my job and couldn’t afford the cost.
Of course, I knew after Ryan started owning defenses that the prices would go up and I’d really have to bite some humble pie when I move to atlanta.
Yes, I am upset they’re jacking the prices, especially on those loyal fans who didn’t leave because He-We-Shall-Not-Speak-Of left and the team imploded. And it makes it that much harder for newer fans to get in on the Dome action as well.
But then again, just think if the Falcons consistently make the playoffs the next few seasons…imagine the prices then.

Even that wouldn'tcover it
I’m paying an extra $500 for the season, that’s on $1200 tickets. I’m sure that I could find myself some sweet playoff tickets for less than $500 over face value. I know the Falcons didn’t have cheap tickets before, but I am curious to take a look around the league and find out what other tickets cost. I mean $85 for upper level seats? I got upper level to cut costs. I don’t know, it really hurts. And for them to do such a thing in this economy…

I'm shocked.
I mean its not like we’ve been selling out consistently every week. Its been recent hype filling the stadium and they’re not exactly die hard fans. This global crisis is affecting us all and im surprised a local guy like Blank would do this, maybe it was necessary to keep people on, maybe the Falcons are suffering as well.

Supply and demand
Barring a team collapse, Falcons season tickets will be a smokin’ hot property in the offseason. Though unfortunate and distasteful for the fans, this is probably basic Economics 101 at work here. Their prices were relatively low compared to the rest of the league before this. It will be interesting to see where they rank next year. The timing of the hike is curious, don’t most teams raise prices in the offseason?
When I had season tickets in 1972-73, they cost something like $62 or $68 per seat per year, lower level, 20 yard line. Sigh. If you think it’s bad now, wait until Blank gets his new stadium and they start charging loyal fans thousands of dollars just for seat licenses, like the Giants and Yankees.

As long as they are reasonable
I wouldn’t mind a PSL price, at least not compared to this. If the price was $2k per seat for upper level prime, that would cover this price hike in 8 years and at least be worth something if I never have kids. As far as the off-season thing, I was really surprised too. This is usually the time of year to get my playoff invoice. That’s actually what I thought it was.

Is there enough support for a new stadium?
Is the demand there though? True demand? What I’ve witnessed on from here hasn’t been good. Granted i don’t get the full picture but from what I’ve seen there is very little hardcore fans compared to other NFL teams and we only really sell out when everything is going fine and dandy?
I’m currently half way through my Economics degree! Won’t be able to get a job at the end of it though in the current climate!

A new stadium
has been mostly a pipe dream for Blank the last several years. He’s had talks with the city, but that’s all I think. Eventually, he’ll get it, but it may be many years. New stadiums are an obscenely horrible deal for the rank and file fan, they’re built (and priced) for the wealthy these days.

Keep the Dome.
I don’t want $15,000 seats. I’m looking at you, G-men.

Im sure there will be a case for the local economy gaining extra jobs and local companies being drafted to build it helping in the current climate. Hell if you need immigrants or illegal aliens to help id love to!
