Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Why Wes Durham Rules

Wes Durham is, of course, our official radio play-by-play man. He is also awesome. I've listened to a lot of games and heard a lot of the NFL's radio men but frankly, Wes is the only one that really draws me into the game. He just has so much emotion and connection to the team he's covering. Other NFL radio men sound so disinterested, so unemotional. Wes really roots for the Falcons and you can feel it. Call me silly but I've compiled some transcript evidence to show you just how exciting it is to listen to him. The next time Fox has Billick or Aikman doing a Falcons game, mute the TV and tune to Dave FM or one of the many Falcon radio affiliates and hear the best radio man in the NFL.

Wes rocks

He started in Atlanta doing Georgia Tech games in the mid ‘90s, apparently he likes it here! Agree that he’s an outstanding play by play man, very informative to the audience.

The last play by play guy we had of his calibre was Bob Neal, who last did Falcons games in 1997. Cheers!

Missing link

Right before the “Here’s Baker. One step…” call there was “Douglas has eyes on the endzone.”

We’ve heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true.

You're welcome.

It’s a shame you can’t hear Wes across the pond. Well, technically you could if you join NFL.com’s FieldPass. How do you catch the games out there anyway? NFL.com tracker?

Indeed.

It is Wes on the highlight videos on NFL.com. And as for the naughty stream watching, keep at it. Do what you must, my friend. I’m sure the NFL is working on a branch of the Network for you guys. They already plan to keep playing in London so it’s only a matter of time.

To Be Fair.

We get a lot of games, they are arranged by the NFL but we get two 1pm games, two 4pm games, two 8pm games on a sunday, we get MNF and TNF through SKY satellite so we cant really complain. Its just sucks that its $45 a month and your team are only shown about twice a season.

But through the net i can watch every game as long as it is on local TV and not on black out.

FieldPass

may be a good alternative to that fee. I’m not quite sure how the pound is going against the dollar but it’s a pretty steady 2:1 ratio every time I order stuff from the Red Dwarf website. You could get FieldPass for about 20 bucks a season. Granted, it ain’t TV but it’s local radio announcing.

Not Anymore

Getting closer and closer to 1:1 in the current climate, which is very bad for us buying NFL stuff!

You can get GamePass which is the same but with video. If you watch every game it works out about $2.50 per match.

We split the SKY between all our housemates and because they want it I’d have SKY even if i didn’t watch the NFL so its really a bonus but as i said i watch online a lot anyways.
