jenkins
has anyone else noticed that he is slowly emerging alongside roddy white as a very good number two receiver. he always had the whole package but finally seems like hes starting to put it together. it probably has something to do with matt ryan, but i mean it feels great to be a fan and finally see our high draft picks starting to put it together. jamaal anderson also looks like he remembers how to play now as well. any thoughts?

I agree
I have always loved Jenkins, his size advantage I liked. However his inconsistent route running and fumbles of the ball sort of set him back. Now I think that it is now evident that receivers of the past and present all had bad tidings due to poor QB play and now with a far supirior QB it is evident that these guys can put it together. I think Jenkins over this season has proven he can be a number 2 guy and with Robinson and Douglas this receiving core looks nice.
I labelled Anderson as a potential bust and I am not going to hastingly pull it off, however Anderson has shown why he was a First round pick, however it is a known fact that even undrafted guys have put up better sack numbers than he has so I would like to see him aim for 6 sacks this year.
So all in all it’s nice to see some of our so called “Busts” come out and play footy ball the way it should be played. That said it is easier playing for a better team than on a worse team…

Very few busts
This team still has loads of raw potential, and we haven’t really seen what a guy like Chevis Jackson can do yet. It is great to see a guy I wrote off for dead reviving his career like this, and here’s hoping Jenkins can remain a useful piece for a long time to come.

With Matt Ryan throwing the pigskin, we’re going to see a lot of presumed busts turn into real offensive weapons.

Definitely
I think the catch in the Chicago game with 1sec left really boosted his confidence. With more double teams on Roddy, we are going to need him making plays. I was excited to see him pumped and engaging the crowd after making the catch on the 2yard line vs. NO. It was a great effort.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

I have got Jenkins on my fantasy team now, got me some good points last week, thinking this week will be more of the same. Now with Roddy becoming a pro-bowl quality WR people will have to focus on him and Jenkins will get more looks. It’s really true, the old adage of “Vick doesn’t have receivers to throw to” has been proven 100% false in just 9 games with a real QB. No, in fact it was Vick who couldn’t throw to save his life.

Mr. Jenks
needs to continue stepping up. He’s only on pace for 43 catches for the year, probably less than you would want for a first round pick in his 5th year. I hope he’ll break out suddenly, like Roddy did, but after 5 years I’d like to see us get some more competition in there for the #2 WR spot.

Let’s go after that Crabtree kid in Texas Tech. He can catch and keep on moving.

Crabtree
Will be utterly impossible to get. Percy Harvin would be my first choice following Crabtree, as I think he’s got the potential to be a pretty dominant #2 guy or better in the pros.

Cookiehead Jenkins
Is totally stepping it up. I was just thinking that the other day when I was looking at his stats thus far and the fact that he is really becoming that big play when you need it type of guy.
-Matty Ice’s first career throw/td
-“The Catch” against the Bears
- The early TD vs. The Raiders on D Hall
In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face.

He has improved as the season has gone on
His numbers overall might not be mind blowing, but from the beginning of the year until now he has improved a lot as Matty Snowballs gets more used to things.
First 5 games – 9 catches, 151 yards
Last 4 games – 15 catches, 244 yards

Another factor
may be the way the offense spreads the ball around. Norwood has almost as many catches (21) as Jenks, I think 11 different players have catches this year. Plus, the offense has (rightly) been somewhat conservative while Ryan develops. Jenkins has all the tools except elite speed, he’s definitely using them better this year.
